The person I feel for the most here is George. His team supremely let him down for now serving that 5 second penalty when he had his last pit. Now he's more than likely going to finish out of the points. Just brutal.

This is actually a great video and you can see both his left tires go directly over the chewed up asphalt/tarmac causing him to go for a skate. I grabbed a frame from the split second moment. Not Charles or the car's fault at all, just supremely bad luck due to a shit resurfacing job.

Yeah call the race, there's a good chunk of asphalt missing in that corner and we don't need another couple of cars go for a skate down there.

The red flag has to be for that final turn. It's nothing but marbles down there, so either they clean that out or end the race now. Unfortunate for Charles, but it clearly wasn't a car issue. Just a little wide and he ended up going for a skate.

After all that, Leclerc has a brain fart and goes into the wall. Disaster as he picks up a ton of marbling.

Right now, that 5 second penalty is not a big deal for Lewis. But with 43 laps remaining, and George with some clean air, that can be significant.

There's zero answer from Ferrari here as Kimi continues to zoom away from them. Almost 5 seconds now separates him from Lewis. George should be able to slowly reel both Ferrari and the remaining Red Bull soon enough.

Piastri forces Lando almost into the wall and it allows Gasly to take him on the right side. While Norris is sitting a half second behind Gasly, it's going to take something impressive to overtake.

Kinda funny to see my feed hating on George there. It was exciting racing, but the bitterness prevails I guess. Now we get 36 laps of Kimi leading a procession. I guess that makes the haters happy?

That's a brutal exit for George. He was having a phenomenal race and the car completely let him down.

George and Kimi are absolutely putting on a show here. Just fantastic racing between teammates, but I hope they don't accidentally take each other out. It's their race to lose at this point as the rest of the pack aren't nearly as fast.

Let's expand on this. They lost in the 2md round last year, never lived up to expectations during the season. Won the weakest division in the NHL, and would have finished 10th in the East. Average tending, injuries, coach firing. Then Hart goes on a heater, Marner has TMs that give a shit.

I don't mind Kimi taking that big swing on the last lap there. Ballsy moves from the kid and while it didn't work, I commend the effort. Mercedes looks unbeatable again.

Cake wasn't really fully baked, and they were still in the middle of the pack in shooting and goals this season. They were a good defensive team this season with a good PP. Let's not forget he "only" had 80 points before catching fire in the playoffs here, and previously fired their coach.

This is a fair assessment for Leclerc here. Gets the 10, for consistently leaving the track, avoids the bigger one due to lack of damage. I noticed a few here complaining about George (and the incident with Max) but they spoke to both drivers who agreed it was just racing. No foul required.
