The only part of this forecast that I like is the possibility for storms. We need the rain SO badly. I can’t imagine how high our water bill will be this month.

I’m 47 and the internet says by this age I should have 4 to 6 times my annual salary in my 401k accounts. I have just over 2 times my salary and I’m feeling like retirement will never happen.

Most of the time. Unless we have company.

Martika turned 57 yesterday. Anyone over the age of 45 should listen to Toy Soldiers in honor of her birthday. I was 10 when that song came out and it was instantly added to the soundtrack of my youth.

We just pulled the cover off. Official opening is tomorrow. Summer 2026 begins.

My employer is putting us in a new, open concept office layout next year and requiring us to come in four days per week. I have ADD and there’s no way I can work like that. My anxiety is on level 10 about it.

I need three day weekends every weekend. One day to do absolutely nothing. One day to do fun stuff and a third to do house projects and/or the chores of living.

I can’t be naked while I garden like many of you but I still managed to get a few pretty things put in today. Looking forward to my sago finally putting out some new fronds. Should be soon.

You know that thing that happens when you work hard, someone with power sees it and offers you a promotion or recruits you to join them? I don’t know it either. It’s never happened to me.

We went to Atlanta for the weekend. Somehow, the bidet turned on in our basement bathroom and flooded part of the basement. Now we have warped floors in some areas and bubbled up sealed concrete in another. Sometimes it feels like I’m not allowed to have nice things.

I cried to my boss today during my one on one. Not about work. About Iran. Feels like Gaza part 2.

Don’t know what it feels like to be anyone else but it sure is a trip being a part of multiple opposing parties. Muslim Dad from Iran, Christian American Mom from suburban Maryland, and me. A late middle aged gay man from Northern Virginia. My emotions are all over the place.

I hope a time comes in my life, preferably a good while before I die, when I don’t ever have to do another presentation.

We got quotes to replace our driveway between $13k and $15k. Who has that kind of money to just throw at a driveway with nothing else to spend that kind of money on? We don’t even have $15k in our savings so this just seems impossible.

You all know I’ve tried to take this advice. Have a wonderful Monday all.

I took this picture when I got home tonight because the kitties must have had a run-in with the lamp. When I looked at the photo, I noticed that green light that appears to be floating in the plant. There is no light there. It looks like an actual object, not just a weird light orb. Curious, right?
