Had a rethink and I think I’m gonna get around 15 hours of exposure for the Veil Nebula over the next week or so. That gives the laptop time to be delivered, so I can watch some processing tutorials and play around with Siril, Lightroom, and PhotoShop once I have the final stacks.

I’m also getting a laptop next week and I wanna start learning how to use programs like Siril and Lightroom to stack and process TIFFs myself instead of relying on DWARFLAB’s auto denoiser

Think I’m gonna do one more night one the Veil Nebula to get another couple hours of data to add to the stack then I’m gonna move on to the next target. I’m very happy with how it’s currently looking, but just wanna see how much of a difference the extra data would make.

Tried playing around with Glaze and Nightshade for my astrophotography, but no matter what settings I used, there was *very* visible artefacting introduced by both programs to the point it actually made my photos look AI generated

Still getting the hang of the DWARF 3. Main thing I’m um’ing and uh’ing is how much exposure time to get for each target before moving on to the next. At least the Moon and Sun photos come out perfect in one. Tags: #astrophotography #moon

Man, I really have get photos of Andromeda, but it's just above the horizon at the moment and cuz I'm surrounded by other houses, I just can't see it from my location right now. Will have to wait until probably this time next month for it to be high enough above the horizon

There’s one big downside to astrophotography I feel like isn’t spoken about nearly enough. Just how blooming cold it is at 2AM. I am freezing my knackers off out here.

First test of the DWARF 3 is pretty good. Solar filter works well. Considering there’s some cloud still, happy with the fact you can make out the sun spots. Hopefully when the cloud clears up later I’ll be able to get something even better. Tags: #astrophotography #sun

New telescope arrived. Naturally it’s cloud and rain all day and night, so can’t try it out.

Just booked a week trip for Spain next August to see the total solar eclipse. Very much looking forward to it. Will definitely be getting a time-lapse of the full eclipse.
