Finished my intro letter for a tnt #ttrpg campaign I am going to run. The premise is the players made a deal with a powerful fey entity, and she is fucking with them and using them as entertainment. The campaign starts with them deciding what to do about it. She’s totally based on a movie director!

Tough #ttrpg night! Start of a new campaign at our weekly in person group and a player showed up late with their character unfinished. Then decided halfway through to restart and build a different character. So we all showed up for & watched him do math for nearly 2 hours. Wild!

The highlight of my week was yesterday listening to a player go crazy with joy in game about how much they love our #TTRPG system. No greater joy than to create something cool and for people to well receive it! 🥰

A fellow #TTRPG pc kept teasing my character because she thought it was funny. An uno reverse card and now they’re girlfriends. It’s every #yuri and sapphic trope mashed into one.

#Ttrpg love post #8: Games without initiative! A step further, games that don’t have 2 different rulesets for roleplay or combat. Getting 1 uninterrupted experience of getting to be totally in my character’s shoes is great! Initiative slows things to a creep where story moments happen in inches.

#Ttrpg love post #5: this book was one of my favorite dm tools ever. Amazing monster blocks, 40 tables across 10 different themes of urban session & campaign ideas. It’s invaluable while running 5e & spending 3-4 sessions in a city & looking for conflict. The tables are nice when I’m out of ideas.

#TTRPG love post #4: open gaming now and forever! Our hobby inevitably asks us to create content at some part of the process. #TTRPG love post #2: another thing I love? D6s! What a fantastic die! There is this false idea that real games use d20s. Multiple d6s and exploding dice mechanics and doubles or triples add such interesting ranges of probability to games that game devs can plan big mechanics & not fear dice wrath.

#Ttrpg love post #1: I love games that include your background as a part of character creation. Games that take it a step further to base your mechanics on the culture you grew up in rather than just what you were born as knock this out of the park.

For me, to critique is an act of love. If I didn’t care about something, I wouldn’t waste time thinking about how to make something better. Instead I just wouldn’t talk about it. Who is using alchemy vtt for indie an indie #ttrpg? Any thoughts so far? Czepeku integration is looking teeempting. But $25 a month on top of $8 a month. I’d be paying more for alchemy and scenes than I do for the entire adobe creative suite 😵‍💫😵‍💫

I love the idea of spellbooks in fantasy. This idea that weaving order out of the arcane is a big complicated process that feels nearly impossible to hold entirely in your head. I’m definitely going to implement something similar with our current tales & twists ttrpg.

Played pathfinder 2e for the first time this weekend! Did the beginner box, it was a ton of fun. I have some critiques about the math & action economy. Fun to play, I doubt I will ever run another heroic d20 fantasy ttrpg again. They’re not the experience I want when stuff like TSL exists. 🧐🥸

I’m on my weird brain #Ttrpg hot girl shit. We can conceptualize damage rolls for combat, but not progress rolls for crafting? Bake a pie, deal 1d6 progress for your sneak attack with your rolling pin for flattening pie crust. Crafting systems where you spend just gold & time are BORING! #Snooze 🥱

Just posted about this this morning, which is wild. DnD 5e ship combat? SUUUUUUUUCKS! Star Wars 5e multicrew ship combat? Stellar! They solved puzzle. It can be done, but not entirely sure how to port it into other games. 🧐🧐

Star Wars D6 ReUP whhhhhy are your rules for multicrew ships lack luster?! Is this the curse of every #TTRPG to have less than ideal ship crew rules? Don’t make me go back SW5e, I don’t want to play 5e. I’m not strong enough! I mean… I could design a 4th ttrpg… 😭😭

I’d take this a step further. Even if you aren’t playing #dnd. Get more descriptive with your destructive spells that deal strange forms of harm. Psychic blast? Pause combat & jump into a flashback of your pc painfully & desperately clinging to a childhood memory the magic is trying to rip apart.

The world needs to watch out for me when I have giant knockers. I can’t be destined to spend the rest of my life in a B-cup 😭😭😭
