Jimmy Johnstone made his Celtic debut on this day in 1963. An injury ravaged Celtic lost 6-0 to Kilmarnock. 5 years later they played on the same ground as European Champions and won 6-0 with Jimmy on fire.

East end Park, Dunfermline in 1968 on the day Celtic won the title. Over 28,000 squeezed into the little stadium with Police estimating 20,000 more locked outside.

in the USA in 1931 with the Scottish Cup. Sadly within a few moths of this picture being take, John Thomson lost his life in a tragic accident in a match with Rangers. Peter Scarff would pass in 1933 and Bert Thompson in 1937 aged just 30. Life was fickle then.

Well, the league cup final passed quietly eh? :-) For all the arguments, decisions, blood & thunder, the history books will record that Celtic won the cup. That'll do for me.

That Kyogo goal against Hibs was just brilliant. His control of the ball, split second timing as the keeper went down & Larsson-esque clip over him was technically perfect.

The old Jungle terrace at Celtic park. That section of the ground gave the team tremendous backing and the occasional rocket if they weren't playing as they should.

The good old days, shoddy & dangerous stadiums, smuggling in booze, aggressive cops and open terraces in the Scottish winter. But hey, we loved it :-)

Nikolas Kuhn was good again last night, the improvement in his game since he arrived has been amazing. His finishing is top drawer, his confidence is high and he seems to be enjoying life at Celtic.

The monthly VAR review is useful for looking back at incidents. Much as referees get things wrong in real time VAR does help in certain situations?

I'm glad Alistair Johnston signed a new deal. He has that combination of qualities you need in Scottish football; toughness, character, technique and seems to get what Celtic is all about.

Morning all, a very happy 27th birthday to Reo Hatate. Some questioned if our Japanese players were to lightweight for the rigours of the Scottish game but they have demonstrated otherwise.

Some images I took in the Bernabeu Stadium when I was still a skinny teenager. 114,000 attended the match with Celtic in the European cup quarter final. I spoke to Peter Latchford about that game and like the rest of us, he thought the Ref was a real 'homer.'

I highly recommend the tour of Celtic Park if you ever have the chance. Great guides, fascinating stories about trophies and Celts of the past. One coda; there must be a huge amount of Celtic artifacts not on display and modern technology should be utilised to make it more interactive?
