The future Game of the Decade has been preordered this morning

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together was released 30 years ago on Super Famicom... I still need to play the Reborn version. This classic is the favourite game of Hironobu Sakaguchi and YoshiP! Yasumi Matsuno was on a generational run (Ogre Battle, FF Tactics, Vagrant Story...)

I'm done with Donkey Kong Bananza! Great action-adventure game with super fun gameplay, level-design and a lot of content. It's a bit lacking to be a masterpiece (I wasn't always fan of the art direction, and the OST is overall disappointing) but it's one of the best games this year.

This is gonna be my next game on Switch after I'm done with Donkey Kong Bananza (which I'm taking my time with)

Disaster: Day of Crisis (Wii) ✅ Far from a disaster, Disaster: Day of Crisis is genuinely rad and is another creative game worth playing from Monolith. The bold blending of genres works pretty well, and the concept of the story, as absurd as it is, offers a surprisingly fun time.

Today I've finished Ninja Gaiden Ragebound as well! Very good game, I've enjoyed the platforming, boss fights and pixel-art. Soundtrack is a banger too. Great to see this series coming back so strong this year!

I've finished Disaster: Day of Crisis, a Nintendo Wii game by Monolith Soft! It was a blast from start to finish, it's an original survival-action game using the gimmicks of the Wiimote in various gameplay situations, with light RPG elements. Very fun!

Trials of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 3) was released 30 years ago! One of the best looking games on Super Famicom and a great Mana game. The recent remake by Xeen is also pretty good, but I like the pixel-art of the OG the most!

Now that Clair Obscur is done, I think it's time to play Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Quartet ✅ Quartet might be the best retro-inspired indie RPG I've played. With its compelling writing, fantastic OST, excellent pacing structurally inspired by FFVI, and combat taking the best from FFX, Quartet is a great tribute to older RPGs but most importantly is great at doing its own things.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 done. It's a tremendous achievement from Sandfall as their first game, and I'm looking forward to what they're gonna do next. The soundtrack and art direction were the highlights to me.

Atelier Resleriana is getting positive reviews from RPG players, especially for its combat back to turn-based. I was kinda mixed on Atelier Yumia's combat (and the game overall) so I'm interested to play a more classic Atelier like this.

It was a decent Xbox show considering they never do anything big for TGS. Nice updates on Fatal Frame 2 remake, DQ 1-2 HD-2D, Hotel Barcelona, Ninja Gaiden 4. Forza Horizon 6 in Japan, cool, that's like the only car games I can enjoy lol

I finally got back to Clair Obscur a few days ago, and I've finished Act 1 and Act 2. I liked Act 1 a bit more to be honest. Now time to do side quests before finishing the game!

Happy 20th Anniversary to the iconic Ninja Gaiden Black! It's not only a great beat'em all with shit ton of weapons, deep gameplay and brutal difficulty, but also a neat action-adventure game with Zelda-like elements (Itagaki was inspired by OoT), interconnected areas & puzzles.

Can always count on Castlevania to have good music

Dynami Tracer ✅ A Squaresoft game exclusive to the Satellaview, made in Chrono Triggers engine. It got an english fan translation! It's a fun concept in which you need to find treasures and complete mini-games in order to win a sort of galactic race. A run takes between 30 min and 2 hours.

Quartet done in ~25 hours with all the achievements! ✅ Great retro-inspired RPG, actually the best indie I've played of this kind. Fantastic soundtrack, neat writing & characters, excellent pacing with a structure close to FF6, good gameplay. Fairly classic but enjoyable story.

I think I'm gonna play the original Project Zero II (Fatal Frame II) somewhere before the remake comes out, it's considered a classic and I feel like playing an old-school survival-horror with my good old camera angles.

🇫🇷 Alone in the Dark (1992) was a pioneer of pre-rendered backgrounds & fixed camera angles, which influenced so many games. It introduced tank controls too. Resident Evil heavily borrowed from AitD, and the creator of Tomb Raider cited it as one of their inspirations. Frédérick Raynal is a genius!

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is developed by Team Ninja. They have an amazing output and such a wide variety of genres right now, between Fatal Frame II, Ninja Gaiden 4, Nioh 3 and Atelier Resleriana (and DoA Xtreme Venus Vacation Prism, I guess xD)

I usually enjoy Nintendo Directs but that one felt underwhelming to me. Only excited about Fatal Frame 2 Remake (often deemed as the best in the series) and why not Fire Emblem. Metroid Prime 4 trailer looked kinda bad so idk. DQ7 meh. Yoshi looks like a Good-Feel game so meh.

Chibi-Robo! done 👌 I barely even knew what kind of game it was before starting it. It was a pretty cool game, really fun and wholesome. Took me a bit over 20 hours!

Great update for Quartet. They added a turbo mode in combat, a Hard mode (I was saying it's a bit too easy last time), and brought some fixes and more QoL.

Eternal Sonata is still absolutely gorgeous, but after playing it more with Xenia, I have to say that there is a lot of visual glitches happening at any random times. So unfortunately, it's just not a great way to experience the game yet.

Chapter 8 done in Quartet. I'm progressing quite fast through it because the pacing is excellent, hard to stop playing. Really enjoying the writing, the dynamic between characters and the soundtrack. Combat is pretty good and gets better with more characters (a bit easy tho).

Some conversations a couple of days ago inspired me, so now here's my tierlist of Final Fantasy STORIES (taking into account how it's executed and the characters as well) 🙈 Purely subjective of course. 😇

Didn't try Xbox 360 emulation in years and Xenia seems to have improved a lot. I've tried Infinite Undiscovery and Eternal Sonata for a bit, it's running well. I will probably use that whenever I feel like restarting them!

Still thinking about how incredible Chains of Promathia was. It truly had the whole package you'd want from a great Final Fantasy story: an iconic MC, amazing plot twists, a ton of humour, a memorable cast of characters, deep themes, and an emotional ending... #FFXI

I've tried the beta of Sonic Racing CrossWorlds. It's pretty much exactly what you'd expect from it: a decent Mario Kart clone, albeit not especially inspired or impressive. Cool but definitely not a day 1 buy for me!

Square Enix announced a Valkyrie Profile collab in War of the Visions: Final Fantasy BE, a few months after shutting down that game in the West. Gacha collabs are the last thing we're getting related to Valkyrie Profile, but we can't even get them here anymore. 😭

Visions of Mana, the 5th main entry in the Seiken Densetsu series, was released 1 year ago! It was my favourite game of last year. Loved the vibes of this journey. The art direction is wonderful and the gameplay gets really fun. Give it a chance!
