My new toy! For a long time, I've wanted to invest in a Mini PC for the sole purpose of retro gaming ... and my Raspberry Pi (with its extreme limitations) just wasn't cutting it. This beast should handle everything up to PS3 and Xbox 360. Has Ryzen 7, 32GB RAM, Radeon Vega 8 GPU and a 1TB SSD.

R.I.P. to Mr. James Tolkan, whom I'd just learned had passed away yesterday. He was a fixture in many 80's films including "Back to the Future", "Top Gun" and "Masters of the Universe". Although I didn't get to meet him, I was able to take this photo while he was signing autographs at Fan Expo '25

Arguably my favorite part of FE was around 4am on Saturday. @snowballwolf.bsky.social was hot and couldn't sleep, so I accompanied him to the hotel lobby to cool down. Upon returning, we'd found a roommate had taken our bed. This led us to touring the hotel and a Guitar Hero jam in the game room!

This past weekend, I attended my 6th consecutive Furnal Equinox convention with @snowballwolf.bsky.social . Although I was sleep deprived, it was still an amazing time! On Saturday, I performed in the Masquerade talent show for my 4th time. Really proud of this performance as I held nothing back!

Attending John's funeral this morning. My best friend @sinclairiverse.bsky.social was going to come with me, as he knew John as well. But, he's in a lot of pain as a result of kidney stones. I may just come for the service and pay my respects to his family. Doubt I'll stay for the reception.

Treated myself to Pablo's Fried Chicken tonight. Easily the best chicken joint in town! A 4-piece with potatoes and gravy was dirt cheap via DoorDash, thanks to having Dash Pass, included with my Prime membership, as well as a 50% off coupon! The servings are so huge. I have plenty for tomorrow!

Went to see "EPIC", the Elvis Presley concert film last night. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! I had goosebumps from beginning to end and found myself singing along through the entire thing! As a fan who owns every concert released on DVD/Blu-ray, 👇, it was amazing to see so much unreleased material!

Made a little something different tonight! Nacho chili cheese dogs using Taco Bell nacho cheese and Tim Hortons canned chili. Sure. They may look like someone vomited all over them, but take my word for it.... These were DELICIOUS! I just wish I had all beef dogs. That would've been next level!

For the last few years, I've been on a neverending search for honey mustard that tastes remotely similar to A&W's. I'm ecstatic to say that today that search is over! I came across Kraft 's brand, which is labeled as more of a salad dressing, but I took a gamble. The taste is 100% IDENTICAL! 😍😍😍

I'd just learned that a family friend had passed 5 days ago. Mr. John Mackeigan. I'd known him virtually my whole life (since I was about 6 or 7). He allowed me to live with him when I was a troubled teen, and even drove me to Nashville to perform in a televised singing contest. RIP old friend!

Just got my ticket to see "EPIC: Elvis Presley in Concert" this Monday. I've been excited to see this ever since it premiered at TIFF this past September. As a huge fan of Elvis, I'm excited to see all of the unearthed footage, and moreso, how good the performances are sure to sound! Can't wait!

I just finished filing the last of 4 tax returns today. One for myself of course. Another for my nephew.... and one for my best friend as well as his brother. Fortunately, they were all basically 'cut-and-dry' without any complications. Glad I could do this for them. Saves them money at least!

A new release I've been wanting to own came out today, "Sisu: Road To Revenge". Amazon wants $46 for the Blu-ray. Meanwhile. I found the EXACT same title in the EXACT same format at Walmart for $27. That's a $19 discrepancy. Unreal. Do better Amazon!!!

It's no surprise that I love decorating my apartment for Christmas. Late last month I ordered some decor from Temu which arrived today! No complaints, except I thought the "He Sees You" sign might be a little bigger. I definitely plan on ordering more throughout the year.

So, how long has this been a thing? I absolutely love Taco Bell's nacho cheese, so imagine my surprise when we came across this today at Food Basics! I haven't tried it yet, but I fully intend on making nacho cheese fries for dinner tomorrow! Now if A&W would package and sell their honey mustard!

I bought a 3-pack of Cadbury Creme Eggs tonight, and much to my (pleasant) surprise, they've returned to their foil covered roots! I wasn't a fan of the plastic shell they'd used to package them for the last number of years. Call me nostalgic, but this is the way they were meant to be presented!

This past Sunday, I took a bad fall while crossing the street downtown. Still unsure what happened. I'd either tripped or slipped on something. No idea. But, I wound up kissing pavement either way. lol As a result, I've suffered all week with a banged up knee and a sprained wrist. Not fun!

Listening to The Beach Boys this morning while dreaming about warmer weather. I can whole-heartedly say (and I'm pretty sure most would be in agreement), winter can 🖕 right off! lol

Yesterday, MGM dropped the teaser trailer for the upcoming "Masters of the Universe" film! I'm ecstatic for this as I was such a He-Man fan as a kid! The characters mostly look fantastic, especially Skeletor! If I had one (albeit minor) gripe, it's that He-Man looks a little thin in the skin.

Not thrilled. I'd purchased a Blu-ray late last year, and finally got around to watching it this morning. The film began skipping and freezing. I inspected the disc only to learn that it has 'disc rot". I'd bought it used, and have had it only a month, so it was by no fault of my own. ☹️

Yesterday, @snowballwolf.bsky.social gave me this set of 'Gremlins' ornaments he'd ordered for me from Temu. I absolutely love them, and I already can't wait to put them on my Christmas tree next year!

Living alone, i rarely make big meals for myself. My main food groups consist of "microwaveable", "canned", "frozen" and "take-out". But, there's that rare occasion when I'll actually put forth an effort and make a decent feast for 1. Tonight was BBQ chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy.

Watching one of my all-time favorite music-centeic films, "The Commitments". For years I'd been trying to hunt down the 'out-of-print' Blu-ray. I managed to find it earlier this week on eBay, and at a great price to boot! This is one of those films I don't think I'll ever tire of! A classic!

Listening to Yungblud's "Idols" album a lot these last few weeks! He's making quite the name for himself these days. Much of it I think has to do with Ozzy Osbourne handing down the proverbial torch mere weeks before his death. I discovered his music when I'd first heard "The Funeral" in 2022.

Now. anyone who knows me will tell you that I absolutely despise onions. I hate them on pizza, burgers, in egg salad .... You name it. But for some unbeknownst reason, I absolutely LOVE onion rings. Don't ask me to explain it, because I can't. I truly am an enigma. You'll never figure me out! 🤣

12 Wonderland trips (including Haunt & WinterFest), 2 concerts (Cyndi Lauper & Melissa Etheridge), 2 conventions (Holiday Comic Con & Fan Expo), 2 nights at the Westin Harbour for Furnal Equinox (where I became a bona fide furry), various meets (High Park, Wonders of Winter). 2025 was a GREAT year!

Been ringing in 2026 with 5+ hours of live country music, courtesy of "Nashville's Big NYE Bash.". My drink of choice? Pepsi. 😊 Wishing each and every one of you a healthy, happy and prosperous new year!

This morning I took @snowballwolf.bsky.social to ServiceOntario to renew his health card, and they just so happened to be selling these! I hadn't had them in years, but they are indeed VERY sinful. Especially if you love chocolate mint as I do! lol Even at $6 for the box, I regret nothing!

I think it's safe to say I'm one of the least handy people on the face of the earth. That said, I desperately needed a new shelf for my movie collection. I ordered one online and it arrived yesterday, with "some assembly required". After a few hours and a lot of patience, I got it done!

My family certainly does spoil me, and I couldn't be more grateful! I've told them time and time again that having them in my life was the only gift I needed! Also, the "Believe" sign in my previous post was also a Christmas gift from @snowballwolf.bsky.social . I'm truly a lucky man!

Well, Christmas has come and gone. This year's was a great one, as I got to spend it with the 2 people whom to me mean the most. My amazing mom and my awesome nephew @snowballwolf.bsky.social. It's really no wonder why it's my favorite time of year. I hope everyone had a great Christmas as well!

On Friday, while en route to Niagara, we had a 4 hour layover in Toronto, so we decided to check out the "From Mr. Dress-Up to Degrassi: 42 years of Toronto Children's TV" exhibit at Harbourfront Centre.. Very nostalgic! Got to see original puppets from "Today's Special", vintage memorabilia, etc.

The Holiday Comic Con in Niagara was amazing. Took in 9 panels, including the Home Alone one which was the best by FAR. Devin Ratray (Buzz) was hilarious! Got to meet actor Mike Starr (who's appeared in countless films (Goodfellas, The Bodyguard, etc) who graciously took a photo with us! So fun!

Headed to Niagara Falls tomorrow with @sinclairiverse.bsky.social for the weekend as we're attending the Holiday Comic Con on Saturday. Really looking forward to it! There are panels featuring cast members of both "Home Alone" and "A Christmas Story", screen-used movie props, etc. Gonna be fun!

I just did a runtime comparison between my DVD set of "The Beatles Anthology" and the new Disney Plus release. Although the D+ version adds a newly created 9th episode, it doesn't excuse the fact that 2 HOURS AND 17 MINUTES of footage was cut from the first eight. Thank god for physical media!

My mom gave me this awesome snowglobe she bought second-hand. I absolutely love it! It runs on 3 AAA batteries. The snow within the globe circulates at different speeds while the LED's rotate a variety of different colors. Part of the candy cane is broken, but I don't care! Snowman took a bite!

Well, I logged into my Reddit tonight only to learn I'd been hacked. Based on the 75 messages I've received from perverts in my inbox, I'm evidently a 25 year old woman from Maine desperately trying to get laid. I've since changed the password and informed the horndogs that I'm a 48 year old male.

Enjoying some old school Survivor Series events from WWE Vault on YouTube! This was my childhood in a nutshell. Every Saturday & Sunday afternoon throughout the 80's and early 90's, you'd find me in front of the TV set rooting for my favorite wrestlers! Miss those days! A much simpler time....

Watched "The Smashing Machine" yesterday. I'm perplexed by how hard this tanked at the box office. I thought it was stellar, especially Dwayne Johnson's portrayal of Mark Kerr. I get that people unfamiliar with the early days of MMA or Kerr would dismiss it. But man, I loved every second of it!

Getting my mom to laugh at my stupid sense of humor is one of the few joys I have in life! lol I truly think @snowballwolf.bsky.social gets his wit from me! (For those of you who weren't alive before the turn of the century, google "Leave it to Beaver" to understand the second screeshot! 😊)

Just ordered a new fiber optic cable as my existing one is starting to give up the ghost after 20 years. The sound transmitted to my receiver now cuts out intermittently about every 30 seconds which is an annoyance. Fortunately, my Blu-ray player isn't affected as it feeds via a different channel.

My nephew @snowballwolf.bsky.social bought me a bottle of Japanese Pepsi from the Ethnic Market, known otherwise as 'Pepsi Raw'. He wanted me to try this as I'm a regular Pepsi drinker. Gotta say, very good! Not as sweet but big on Cola flavor. Not as carbonated. Very smooth! I'd get it again!

Really want to own "Spinal Tap II: The End Continues" on Blu-ray as it was just released last week. But, the cheapest I've seen it go for is $40. It's absolutely insane! I checked eBay, and prices went as high as $65 after shipping. Why so expensive? Getting harder to be a collector these days!
