loading . . . [theqoo] THE CURRENT SITUATION OF GIRL GROUP MADEIN THAT MAKES NO SENSE RIGHT NOW
MADEIN is known among K-pop fans as the team where KEP1ER’s Kang Yeseo and Mashiro made their re-debut
""Can I touch your ch*st?”... Rookie girl group agency CEO accused of SH"
They are a rookie girl group who debuted last September and have been active for only a year, but just two months after their debut, a crime occurred involving the CEO forcibly SA an und**age member.
As a result, their existing schedule and advertisements are being canceled one after another.
"Hello,
This is 143 Entertainment.
We would like to inform you regarding the future activities of the group MADEIN.
Member Gaeun has officially withdrawn from the team as of today.
Since debuting last September, Gaeun has put in a lot of effort for MADEIN’s activities, but due to overlapping personal circumstances, it became difficult for her to continue with the team activities, leading to her decision to withdraw.
Going forward, MADEIN will continue as a six-member group consisting of Mashiro, MiU, Suhye, Yeseo, Serina, and Nagomi. All previously postponed schedules will be resumed and carried out as planned.
Regarding the recent reports of SH allegations, we firmly deny these claims as completely untrue.
We also possess clear evidence to prove the falsehood of these allegations. Should any legal issues arise, we will cooperate sincerely to ensure that no doubts remain.
We apologize for delivering such heavy news to the fans.
We ask for your warm support and encouragement for both Gaeun and MADEIN.
Thank you."
In response, the company posted this notice, but the victim, member Gaeun, ended up having to leave unfairly.
(Unlike the victim’s side, which has clear evidence, the company has yet to present any evidence to confidently back up their claims.)
“Gaeun, who left MADEIN, says ‘It took great courage’… Holds press conference to sue alleged SH-er.”
In that unfortunate situation, MADEIN made their comeback, and for several months no one knew how Gaeun was doing. Then, at the end of April, Gaeun gathered the courage to reveal the truth about the situation and announced that she would proceed with filing a lawsuit against the CEO and a contract termination lawsuit, together with the Hanbit Media Labor Rights Center.

"143 Entertainment Official Statement
Hello, this is 143 Entertainment.
First, we would like to always thank the fans who have been sending a lot of support to MADEIN. We would like to inform you of the position regarding CEO Lee Yong-hak's future course of action.
Regarding the recent controversy, CEO Lee Yong-hak is currently cooperating sincerely with the ongoing police investigation.
However, to prevent further baseless and indiscriminate speculation and criticism that may harm our affiliated artists and employees, he has decided to step down from his position as CEO and focus on clarifying the facts.
Since this is a difficult decision made to protect the artists and the company, we believe that all truths will be revealed during the upcoming investigation process.
Thank you."
K-pop fans were once again shocked by the victim's revelations and evidence, leading to the resignation of the CEO
"Hello, this is 143 Entertainment.
We sincerely thank you for the warm love and support you always give to MADEIN.
Recently, Suhye has decided to take a break for a while due to personal reasons.
This decision was made so that she can come back to meet fans with a better self, so we kindly ask for your understanding.
Our company will do its best to support Suhye so that she can have enough time to rest comfortably.
We ask for your warm support so that Suhye can return with a bright and cheerful appearance.
Thank you."
Meanwhile, another Korean member, Suhye, suddenly stopped her activities, and the seven-member group MADEIN continued their schedule with only five members, 1 Korean and 4 Japanese.
Fans and those who have been watching closely hoped for Suhye’s safe return and for Gaeun, who withdrew, to win her legal case without issue...
"MADEIN Suhye's promotion halt notice
(This is another member from the group Kepler, which had a case where the CEO SH-ed a m*nor member causing her to withdraw, and the group held a press conference. Please pay attention.)"
One day, the announcements about Suhye withdrawing and suspending activities were deleted, and even the notice about the CEO’s resignation was erased.
Moreover, if you look at the comeback albums of other artists under the same agency, you can still see that the CEO (DM) is involved in the album production of the agency’s artists.
From here, the feeling of unease gradually started to grow...
(MiU, Mashiro, Serina, Nagomi)
Yeseo ended up missing the event happening in early August.
There was no official announcement about it, and we only found out because the schedule only roughly included the other members.
Since the original schedule had her listed as MADEIN, fans were confused, and even just days before the event, there was no word about this, so fans were anxiously watching.
"[Exclusive] Mashiro, MiU, Serina, and Nagomi form first unit ‘MADEIN S’ – Shocking debut in August"
The announcement came out that the Japanese members, excluding Yeseo, will be making a comeback in August as a unit called MADEIN S. So funny (The fact that they dropped this info not through an official notice but just through a news article is another infuriating part.)
It’s honestly hard to understand how a 5-member group could form a unit with just 4 members, excluding the only Korean member but for Korean promotions.
(Some fans, including myself, are speculating that they actually wanted to promote without Yeseo, but knew there would be a huge backlash if they officially announced she was halting activities, so they tried to get around it by framing it as a “unit.”)
As for Yeseo’s role in the team, she’s essentially been filling the main vocal position ever since Suhye (the original main vocal) went on hiatus. She’s also the most well-known member, and as a Korean member, she supports Mashiro (a Japanese leader), who might otherwise struggle a bit more leading a K-pop group in Korea. Of course, all members are important, but Yeseo is genuinely irreplaceable.
And if anyone’s thinking, “Maybe it’s because Yeseo was being unprofessional or caused trouble,” then…
Mashiro:
Among the members, Yeseo is the one I've spent the most time with, so she's always quick to notice when I’m having a hard time and helps me out by my side, I'm truly grateful for her. Yeseo is someone who knows how to switch into work mode and handles her schedule and responsibilities well. I really respect how hardworking she is.
I'm the leader of MADEIN, and since it's my first time being a leader, there have been some challenges. But Yeseo often helps by adding explanations or supporting me when I talk to the team, so she's a very reliable presence.
Yeseo is also studying Japanese diligently right now, and during our schedules in Japan, she tries her best to speak in Japanese. I truly think she's a hardworking person.
Yeseo:
I really respect how Mashiro never shows any signs of being tired, even when she’s exhausted. I admire how she manages her condition every day, like taking half-body baths and maintaining both her physical and mental health so well.
I’m also really thankful that she always listens to me. Whenever I’m feeling down, she always comes to help, and I truly appreciate that. She’s someone my heart naturally gravitates toward!
---
A member who has been closest to her for a long time is now speaking out like this.
She’s also someone who had a much bigger and more active career with Kep1er, and even up to her departure due to contract expiration, she handled everything without any issues
Anyway, the fandom, who had been quietly enduring all this, completely exploded with anger over this totally unexpected decision to essentially exclude such a member without a single explanation.

This company, once again, put out absolutely no announcement or explanation, and out of nowhere, they suddenly dropped a light stick for fans (and honestly, as a longtime fan, I thought the design looked lazy... ).
And then, to make things worse… they threw fuel on the fire. Sigh…

They just made a fanclub yesterday with no content in head, and released a blog for Yeseo
But it was...
A photo from Yeseo's IG from a year ago
They recycled it and tried to pass it off like she had just posted it recently, completely faked it. Did they seriously think no one would notice?
And now that I think about it, Yeseo, who used to come on paid fan communication platforms once or twice a week, has suddenly stopped showing up there and even in the official fan community. Naturally, fans started getting worried.
So now, following Suhye, who's already on hiatus, it’s become clear that the company has absolutely no intention of explaining or giving any notice about Yeseo's situation either.
And at this point, the way they’re handling things feels not just careless but almost malicious. That’s the current state of MADEIN, a rookie girl group that only debuted a year ago

"[Press Release] 143 Entertainment pushes ahead with idol comeback while ignoring unpaid music video wages
Hanbit Center files report to the Artist Rights Center against the agency and production company
143 Entertainment, which caused controversy over unpaid wages, is moving forward with their idol group’s comeback. The issue of unpaid wages, which was reported back in December, still remains unresolved."
---
This company and its CEO are already in an extremely serious situation, with courageous whistleblowers having revealed horrific crimes, such as s** offenses against a min*r member, unpaid music video production fees, wage delays for staff, as well as blackmail and extortion. And yet, things continue to spiral in an unpredictable and devastating direction.
Fans and supporters are all hoping this situation is resolved quickly and justly, that those who committed crimes receive the punishment they deserve, and that the members can smile and return to their activities once again.
I truly believe that, thanks to the people who’ve taken an interest in this situation, the victims have been able to regain some of their courage.
