Bit of a seeing eye shot from Nesterenko there but the release came from an interesting angle which definitely helped fool the goalie along with the screens

I’m very curious to see how Sennecke looks today. He had a really rough rookie faceoff where I think he really needs a good showing tonight to have a chance to make the opening day roster

Yzerman & Verbeek were working on this trade for a while; retention was a sticking point. Really like this for Detroit. 2nd + 4th is a fine bet on a #1 goalie, in my mind. Sources indicate that 1st + Anton Johansson was the ask earlier this year, happy that didn't happen. #LGRW

That Gibson trade is an interesting one. I think it’s an underwhelming return when you look at how long the Gibson trade saga has gone on, but also from a value perspective I think it’s about right when you consider the 6.4 mil in space in 26-27 that the Ducks get from this.

With that Terry rumor on the other site, my view based on the latest tweet is that Terry was discussed as part of a package for a bigger player, but that does not mean he’s actively being shopped, just means that he is not untouchable. IMO there are few players on the team that are untouchable

Mid round for mid round will likely end up being a wash for all intents and purposes so the Ducks get Kreider, while the Rangers get full cap relief and Terrance. Kreider will help the Ducks and won’t have long term cap implications, but I do question if Verbeek knows how to leverage his cap space

With it likely being Terrance and a pick, I am fine with the Kreider acquisition

Marner to the Ducks would truly be a perfect fit for the franchise. Verbeek should move heaven and earth to make it happen if he is serious about his make the playoff statement and that means spending north of 14 mil if necessary.

Trying to remove the disappointment of the Quenneville news and focus on the Ducks roster, the news that Thompson and Clune have been let go is good news for the young D men. Thompson was a large issue for the coaching staff and PK

Finally watched the presser and the only thing that changed for me is wondering if there is a way that Quenneville could earn my trust. As of now there isn’t but working with advocacy groups would be a start at least

Just an awful shift from Gudas. His dump under little pressure turns the puck over, then he has horrible gap control with Domi and then instead of challenging the stick, randomly goes for a hip check with no speed. Exactly what you don’t want from a d man

This will probably go down as the most complete performance of the season for the Ducks. The controlled the game and outside of a 5 on 3 kill, they did not allow much against, which is no minor task for this team this season

That was a really fascinating game where the Ducks really looked dead in the water to start, but found their legs and had a very good 2nd and 3rd period. This team could be so good if they were coached in a way to really push for rush chances with the skill they have

His has been one of the best games for the Ducks this season both from an eye test and a number perspective and it is largely being driven by the young guys. This is what you want to see from the team down the stretch regardless of the results

There are some concerning quotes from Verbeek for myself in here. - it’s odd that he both talks about the Zellweger and Mintyukov needing to play and being in and out hurting their game, while also saying he just decided to move Dumoulin and would circle back if he becomes UFA

This is some really fascinating data and also unsurprisingly paints the Ducks defensive game in a pretty bad light. Not only do they spend a ton of time in the D zone but they allow more chances than normal in their own zone. Really shows how good Dostal +Gibson have been
