Hantavirus. A New Zeland passenger of the cruise who had disembarked in Saint Helena has entered Taiwan on May 7, but Taiwan was only notified on May 13 by NZ through the IHR national focal point channel. The passager was then immediately isolated in hospital.

Different transliterations are used by the opposing sides of the Taiwan Strait. For Marco Rubio, Taiwan uses 盧比歐 vs China's 鲁比奥 — both pronounced "lubio" despite the 1st and 3rd characters being different. Trump is 特朗普 "telangpu" in China and 川普 "chuanpu" in Taiwan — different characters again.
