I don't know why but I thought the new iteration of Treasure Island was quietly cancelled. I am unreasonably excited for this. EVEN THOUGH I am still dying for a 'Treasure Planet' live action adaptation.

Scary Movie [6] is a movie that is stuck in the early 00s. The comedy is hit or miss, with more misses. However because spoof movies died out by the mid 10s, there is value in watching this. Especially for all the people who are nostalgic for these types of movies. (1/2)

Baby Assassins: 2 Babies is still as much fun as the first one. This is one of those sequels that doesn't try to do anything new and keeps the same formula as the first movie. It works and there is absolutely no reason for Yugo Sakamoto to change it. (1/2)

Masters of the Universe does exactly the only thing a summer movie needs to be: FUN. The near two and a half hour runtime does feel long but it never feels like it's dragging. This marks Travis Knight's return to fantasy in a decade (his directing debut, 'Kubo and the Two Strings'), (1/3)

Baby Assassins is still a ridiculously charming action movie and an incredibly fun time. Yugo Sakamoto's eye for action and comedy is so great and he's able to bring in an anime like quality to the movie that doesn't hinder the experience. If you like action this is a must watch. (1/2)

Memories of Matsuko is the best art house film out of Japan (at least for what I've seen). More importantly this is one of the best tragedies and contemplation's on the meaning of life ever made. Its saturated colors are a spectacular contrast to the themes and story of the movie. (1/3)

Fear the Night is the type of movie that I wish was a nonstop action romp. The story isn't really needed and the conflict is really bland and boring. Even though the movie isn't very long, this could have just been a short film rather than a feature film. (1/3)

Finally got around to playing Star Wars: Fallen Order and I'm absolutely awful with Souls like games but had a good amount of fun with this one. Even though I hit a good amount of bugs, especially during the end game. (1/2)

Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu feels like a throwback summer action adventure movie where you just go to the theater for a fun time. In recent years I feel like this is something that a lot of people forget is that a movie with weak writing can still be a fun time. (1/3)

The Platform is a movie that's a lot better in my memory. When I watched this originally during the lockdown it was very topical and it just landed a lot better. Watching it in 2026 the movie comes off as pretentious at times and its use of Don Quixote's allegory is a mixed bag. (1/2)

Mononoke the Movie: Chapter II - The Ashes of Rage doesn't fall into the trappings that the middle movie in a trilogy fall into. Because the stories are self contained and treated like an anthology (which the movie is adapting an anthology series) (1/3)

Lilo & Stitch is still a very charming movie. A movie that was greatly transformed because of a tour guide on Kauaʻi that created the core theme of the movie. Is God Is deserves to be talked about a lot more than it has, and I am really hoping that Aleshea Harris will direct and write another movie. Harris adapts her award winning stage play with so much style and kinetic energy that the movie ends up feeling shorter than it is. (1/2)
