What do creators and users want from resource hosting? Pages, similar to mods, but with multiple files available to download from a list instead of the one big download button?

Some quick notes about Heliosphere for folks new to it. - If you just want to save a mod direct to your hard drive, click “Save as PMP” underneath the big yellow button. - But I *highly* recommend adding the plugin. I had reservations about it at first, but it’s life-saving. (1/2)

If the creator updates their mod, the plugin pushes the update automatically when you log in via Dalamud. No more having to hunt around with “last version update”! - Helio’s website menu has instructions for adding the plugin, but it’s basically just like adding any other experimental one. (2/2)

friendly reminder that heliosphere is run and developed by a single developer who ACTUALLY understands the tech behind mods and mod distribution and deserves your support far more than XMA or anything else

one of my favorite things abt heliosphere as opposed to other sites is the fact that you don't have to pay to add multiple photos to a mod listing. you're able to show off so much more and be more accessible with your previews, and it bothered me that other sites restrict that behind patronage.

anyway, that's all i have to say. supporting and standing in solidarity with bipoc modders and players should be more important to us than numbers or an intolerance for learning new things or the fact we've all forgotten how to ask for help on a forum despite helio having the button right there, and

like i said earlier on my personal account (reshared here): i don't host mods on xma and i never will, expressly because of sel and his horrible treatment of trans and bipoc modders and because i have known about it for years and years before i was posting mods at all. this has been a discussion for

fyi: calling itself an archive doesn't make it one. sel has historically deleted trans-positive mods off xma for being "too political", so the argument that racist mods are fine "because it's an archive" are worthless. look up the trans sweater incident. by his own rules, it's not an archive.

heliosphere has: - actual content moderation - a dev that is actually very receptive to feedback - a plugin that lets you auto-import mods into your game + have those mods auto-update with new releases (alongside the option to download the raw file if needed, of course) - a forum

Just to let people know, in the future I will no longer be releasing mods on XMA. Ko-Fi and Heliosphere will be the only place to get them, I know XMA is where my biggest traffic is, but I'd rather not host my stuff on a site that allows racist, transphobic content thrive unmoderated.
