Just took my first ever ‘domestic’ flight (Newark to SF). So wild to be able to just walk straight off the plane and out of the building - no passport or customs stuff. Which would have made more difference if I didn’t have checked luggage

I may rather dislike flying… but goodness me I like where it takes me sometimes #northernlights

Same spot in Austria at sunset, 7 years apart, almost to the day. We’re heading towards the final leg of this wonderful roadtrip, and feeling incredibly proud of the amazing young adults that Jack and Zoe have become, and extremely privileged that we’ve got to share this journey with them

Italy is an interesting mix of extremes This morning: registering for the ‘tollgate-free toll roads’ which were only sign posted once already on it… and requires passport uploads etc Also this morning: eating fresh figs from the tree while looking out over this stunning vineyard filled landscape

Well, the power outage which just lost the work I was in the middle of on the mac mini .... seems to have fixed the printer that hasn't worked for over a month. I'll actually take that as a win.

Re-reading Snow crash. Amazing writing. Even more amazing considering how luck of it takes please in the ‘Metaverse’ is that is was first published in 1992.

Tried something new while walking the dog yesterday. With headphones on I left Perplexity on voice mode with my phone in my pocket, for half an hour just thinking out loud about some ideas and working through the solutions with perplexity as I would do with one of my mates on the phone.

Best jet lag cure: Plus: as soon as you are at cruising altitude, place you mind in that time zone, and eat to the destination time zone norms too
