As part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, women’s and community institutions in Jazira canton organized activities to promote equality and reject violence and discrimination against women.

The 4th Conference of the Women’s Media Union was held in Qamishlo under the slogan “By developing the Free Media Union, we will be the voice of the women’s revolution.” A new 31-member council was elected, honoring women’s struggle for truth and a free, democratic society.

The Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) in North and East Syria are more than a military force — they are a true guarantee of women’s rights. When women are excluded, peace is incomplete. Participation and decentralization are not privileges, but the basis of justice and freedom.

Kongra Star in Jazira Canton gathered 1,800 letters from women to Leader Abdullah Öcalan as part of the “I Want to Meet Abdullah Öcalan” campaign. The letters express hope for peace and justice, condemning the international conspiracy and demanding Öcalan’s freedom and democratic solutions.

HTS militants used tear gas to suppress protests in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh, where residents demanded the reopening of roads and entry of SDF forces, affirming their resistance and refusing to surrender to the siege imposed on their neighborhoods.

Women in Suwayda continue their protests, demanding an international investigation to uncover the truth about violations, ensure the return of the kidnapped, and open humanitarian corridors. From al-Karama Square, their voices call for justice that cannot be silenced.

A march by the Free Women’s Movement (TJA) under “We walk to freedom with hope” set out from Amed to Ankara, demanding leader Abdullah Öcalan’s physical freedom. On its third day, it reached Amara village, affirming that women’s struggle will continue.

On the third anniversary of the martyr Nagihan Akarsel, the Jineolojî Research Center in Dêrik organized a cultural and artistic event. Women and young participants from the region reaffirmed that the struggle continues and the idea will never die.

Women in Raqqa Canton said that a decentralized system in Syria is key to equality and justice, ensuring women’s participation in decision-making. They stressed that the Autonomous Administration has proven women’s ability to lead and shape policies.

The women’s delegation from North and East Syria met in the Swiss city of St. Gallen with parliamentarians from the Swiss Green Party and the Socialist Left Party. The meeting focused on the situation of women in Syria in general, especially after the fall of the Ba’ath regime.

Îlham Ahmed, the Co-Chair of Foreign Relations in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, said that Syria needs a radical change based on participation and respect for rights, stressing that the March 10 Agreement represents a genuine opportunity to achieve peace and unity.

The women’s delegation from North and East Syria continues its tour in Switzerland, where it gave a lecture on the democratic system and the women’s revolution, and also met with a member of the Lausanne parliament to discuss the latest developments in NES and whole Syria.

The second conference of the Women’s Council in the Union of Municipalities of North and East Syria took place in Hasakah, with the participation of 150 delegates, under the slogan “Community efforts of women guarantee the building of democratic municipalities.”

After the 1st Kurdish Women’s Platform meeting in April (Sulaimani), the 2nd gathering was held on Sept 27, 2025. Women from all parts of Kurdistan, Europe, KNK & Repak joined. Discussions focused on political context & preparation for the 3rd Kurdish Women’s Congress in 2026.
