Derby Day - a group of Sunderland fans walked up through Gallowgate. It's if they'd broken away from the main police escort or if they'd just arrived on the Metro; either way, they were on their own, with no police protection, in the middle of thousands of extremely hostile Newcastle supporters.

East Coast of Japan, south of Fukushima - the outgoing tide had left a very fine covering of black silt and fine seaweed. A passing vehicle exposed the white sand underneath, leaving a snaking trail away in to the distance.
