Worked 3C3W Equatorial Guinea 20m cw LP for an ATNO. The op called for VK/ZL which was the only way I was going to get past the EU wall. Stoked! #DX

Been playing with 160m WSPR rx over the couple of weeks generally hearing VK so really pleased to hear E51WL this evening. Using a funcube dongle SDR and the wsjtx software on a Linux machine. The antenna is a 4m high 22m long wire with radials and a 4 to 1 balun. #wspr #amateurradio

It was dark -1c I was in a forest So of course I did a Fartlek No picture (did I mention it was dark?) #running

40 casual QSOs in the #iaruhf contest. Mostly HQ stations on 20m as 15 and 10 never really opened. Worked a couple on 80m but most stations couldn't hear me even when I threw 500w at them. *sigh*

This is as good as 12m WSPR has been here in ZL in weeks. W stations still being decoded at 0400z with the path largely in darkness.

For everyone in the northern hemisphere who misses winter.

The geomagnetic storms have obviously arrived. Normally I'd be decoding multiple W/VE/VK signals on 12m WSPR by mid morning (2200z). So far I have managed one VK.

Got #ZS8W on 20m cw just now. Not helped by the guys off their meds jamming him. He was S9 here once they stopped. Very pleased.

Managed to get out to the ZL3X CWskimmer site and get it back online after it crashed earlier this week. Normally I can manage it remotely but not when the wifi on the laptop it uses drops out.🙄

Installed an Aziloop DF-72 antenna system from quietradio.co.uk it's a receive system with electronic switching. It allows you to switch between a loop and K9AY configuration. You can also access remotely. Will be testing tonight.

Fun evening tonight on 10m CW. S5, UP7, UT5, SX, G3, all in the log and a couple of Gs on 80m at our Grey line to boot. Nice to see the bands do active.

Hamclock up and running on a raspberry pi 1 model B. Took a few hours to set up from loading the operating system to hamclock itself (even managed to mow the lawn) 😁 very impressed with it.

Chose a great time to do a #SOTA activation with a K index of 7. On ZL3/CB-527 Dumblane. 5 in the log in 90min. 4 on 2m and 1 on 20m. You know it is tough when a local friend texts you to say he can't hear you at all!
