My bill to provide veterans and Gold Star Families free admission to Wisconsin’s beautiful State Parks received a public hearing. Those who have sacrificed so much should not have to pay a State Park sticker to enjoy nature and the outdoors. Let’s get this bill passed!

It is past time to legalize recreational cannabis in Wisconsin. My Democratic colleagues and I have introduced a bill that would establish a regulated market that prioritizes public safety, realize the economic benefits of legalization, and reduce harm to communities.

More than 110,000 Wisconsinites are living with Alzheimer’s. This incurable, progressive disease takes a toll on those who live with it, their families and caregivers. Thanks to the Alzheimer’s Association WI for your work to support care and advance research.

Students from Abundant Life Christian School visited the Capitol recently, more than a year after the tragic gun violence that affected the students, families and the community. They asked good questions about school safety and we had a valuable conversation on the topic.

My bill to ensure as many of Wisconsin’s 1,500 Missing in Action service members as possible are reunited with their loved ones received a public hearing this week. I encourage my Republican colleagues to support this bill, honor our service members & bring them home.

The more than 3600 Wisconsin families who are affected by rare bleeding disorders including hemophilia and von Willebrand disease bravely face social, financial, and medical challenges. Thank you to this Waunakee family for sharing the story of their grandson’s journey and for your advocacy!

More than 300 leaders from the Wisconsin Credit Union League around the State visited the Capitol recently, including many from Credit Unions located here in the 27th District. I appreciated the updates on their community based efforts to combat hunger and other priorities.

Senate Democrats have introduced bills to lower costs, rein in property taxes, help people stay in their homes, and lower prescription drug prices. Senate Republicans are not considering any of those bills today. It’s time to put Wisconsinites first.

It was wonderful to see so many SEIU members from UW Hospital as we introduced the Patient Care + Worker Empowerment Act and to hear directly from them about the importance of restoring collective bargaining rights. Supporting the workers who care for us improves healthcare in our communities.

Beam me up! My signature is now on the steel beam that will stand at the heart of the new Wisconsin History Center. It will double the size of the former Wisconsin Historical Museum and provide a modern and world-class setting for our State's collections and resources.
