The #riddlebirdweek AO3 collection is now open! To add your work just type Riddlebirdweek_2025 in the "Post to Collections" box and hit enter. It may not pop up as a suggestion but this will find it. We hope to get entries each day and will share links when necessary. We'll also accept late entries.

A reminder that #riddlebirdweek is here as well as tumblr so you may use either or both sites to share your submissions. Nothing will be reposted onto the other social media but it will get reblogged where its posted. Works added to the AO3 collection will have links shared if not already done so.

In order for us to find and share your submissions they should be tagged #riddlebirdweek. If I seem to have missed your entry please @ me because it surely wasn't intentional. As always, please abide by general tagging courtesies so everyone has a nice experience. Late entries will also be welcome.

Remember that no-one has to contribute every day. Maybe you'd have liked to do them all but life got in the way. Whether you're sharing 7 complete works or a solitary wip we're happy to have you here. Even if its only a vague plot, a sketchy outline, or a theme for your edit, you can still share it.

Fans are what make a fandom and good ones make a community. For #riddlebirdweek we want everyone to feel welcome. Why not send us, or another open blog, an ask? You could find a discord server to join or initiate your own channel hosting a chat section. Make friends with people who get the passion.

A reminder that #riddlebirdweek is just for fun so don't feel pressured by any of it. There's been encouragement to step outside of comfort zones but if you have one thing you'd rather stick to then you're welcome to do so. Let everyone else see how much you love your vision and they'll love it too.

ONE WEEK LEFT! The time is almost upon us. It's 7 days until the first prompt and 13 until the last. We've had fun imagining all the works we're going to see for #riddlebirdweek but now we have to prepare to deliver. Whichever prompt or prompts you're aiming for, we're counting the days now folks.

There's been a lot of different versions shared on here but by no means all the possibilities. Not least because I know a lot of fans have their own designs and original concepts. We'd be happy to see and share these unique looks at the characters. #riddlebirdweek is a time to celebrate them all.

Book Crooks is a kids book featuring a team-up of Penguin and Riddler. These two have worked together in countless iterations over the years and will continue to be paired up for many more. Choose your favourites from all media versions for #riddlebirdweek and share in the joy of match making them.

Why not mix things up for #riddlebirdweek? You have 7 prompts and could switch-up the pairs, maybe ones you're less familiar with. That could mean watching a show you haven't seen yet or reading a new comic. You could even use several variants in the same prompt. Hopefully we'll see lots of variety.

Creativity often gets started with LEGO and the Batman universe offers plenty of options for #riddlebirdweek. There's the video games, with Legacy of the Dark Knight out next year, the films or the toys themselves. Draw, write or invent however you like to demonstrate the love of Penguin and Riddler

We've given you seven prompts to use however you wish. Sometimes the finished project may stray from the initial idea and that's okay. We want you to be inspired and follow that thread. PROMPT IDEAS Day 7: casino Not just a venue but a lifestyle. Riddler's known for card counting and Penguin owned the Iceberg Casino. Possibly they met that way. Or if you're thinking of heists and honeymoons this #riddlebirdweek what place could be better? Let's finish with something spectacular.

Gotham detailed the path to villainy for both Penguin and Riddler and gave one of the fullest depictions of a canon relationship. With early cancellation and missed opportunities there's a lot to unpack here. #riddlebirdweek is ready to receive the theories and extrapolations for this popular show.

You don't have to be a creator to take part in #riddlebirdweek. Many people could use a sounding board for their ideas. After all every writer needs their reader, all art needs an audience, and this fandom needs each one of its supporters. Like, reblog and comment on entries to encourage creativity.

In the 60s Filmation showcased the Batman/Superman Hour with Penguin and Riddler showcasing grand schemes in several episodes. It would be so easy to imagine them working together in other ways for #riddlebirdweek. Whether considering their heyday or twilight years why not give this classic a try?

PROMPT IDEAS Day 6: reversal Time to switch things up. Play about with roles, have them change their minds, even make them heroes. Have fun at #riddlebirdweek with all the possibilities. Maybe Penguin is reverse parking the duckmobile or perhaps Riddler's puzzles are all backwards. Be topsy-turvy.

Absolute Batman presents new ideas for #riddlebirdweek by reinventing all the origin stories. How might their lives be different if Bruce was a childhood friend and they weren't focused on fighting the Bat? Would a shared history have made a deeper bond or forged a relationship neither want to risk?

Why not try something new for #riddlebirdweek? It could be using a different version or trialing a skill you've not tried before. Have you always wanted to try your hand at drawing? Wondered if you could make a stop motion video? Had a writing idea you've been unsure about? This is your sign to try.

From Arkham Asylum to Shadow, these games gave unexpected depth to the characters. Edward turned from a hopeful youth to an obsessed man. Penguin's ambition carried him through gambling dens into the weapons trade. Age may not have smoothed their edges but maybe they fit together for #riddlebirdweek

PROMPT IDEAS Day 5: flowers Who hasn't been entranced by flowers' beauty, scent, and symbolism. Whether green carnations or white lillies they speak to us. Riddler and Penguin are surely no different. This can provide lovely visuals this #riddlebirdweek or tie into angst like hanahaki. Your choice.

On the big screen, Danny DeVito and Jim Carrey embodied Penguin and Riddler for multitudes of fans. This was a Gotham on a new scale and presents a dynamic version for #riddlebirdweek. Bombastic and brash, cunning and clever, they could have been dynamite together. Why not explore the possibilities.

This pair could hold their own in fisticuffs or in wits. With Ed targeting the Bat and Oswald focused on Wayne they're a perfect duo for #riddlebirdweek.

PROMPT IDEAS Day 4: delusion It can be said both Penguin and Riddler are delusional but why not look further during #riddlebirdweek? Are either deluding themselves in the relationship? Or is a new psychosis affecting one of the pair? But perhaps its an assumed delusion. How do they appear to others?

Not all media is well known and some only exists in potentia. Gotham High was a proposed series that just got concept art. Young versions of Riddler and Penguin that can be defined by your imagination for #riddlebirdweek. What were they like before Batman? Maybe school outcasts who became friends.

I'd encourage creating works in advance. While it's possible to do them each day that adds pressure which could make it less than fun. We want people to enjoy this mass posting event! Also if anyone has any old works that fit a certain prompt, don't be shy to reshare. The more content the better!

A classic of our childhood, the Animated Series reworked Burton's vision of Penguin and the New Adventures took from Schumacher's version of Riddler. Both became something distinct and are a popular duo for #riddlebirdweek. Whether going straight or challenging the Batman this pair are well matched.

PROMPT IDEAS Day 3: fire What image comes to mind first? A blazing inferno or comforting hearth? The flicker of a lighter? Perhaps something more metaphorical. The fires of love burn for #riddlebirdweek. Or perhaps the fires of anger and revenge. It can have both positive and negative connotations.

Burgess Meredith and Frank Gorshin defined the Penguin and Riddler for a generation of fans. Both had new stories of going straight or hoodwinking the Batman and left an indelible mark on future interpretations. Deep dive with this version for #riddlebirdweek and unleash more camp couple chicanery.

Inspiration can come from anywhere, at anytime. An overheard bit of song or a glimpse of a scene on TV. Sometimes it's unsought but there's ways to encourage it. Look at past #riddlebird posts, check out media, talk to other fans, lie down and dream... so many ways to be inspired for #riddlebirdweek

Vision isn't the only media so consider the Audio Adventures for #riddlebirdweek. Its clear the rogues interact in this version, especially if their henches are to be believed, and both are proactive in their plans. Penguin is manipulative and Riddler is egotistical. How could they work together?

PROMPT IDEAS Day 2: henches There's been lots of canon help for both Riddler and Penguin, from robots to birds and even vehicles, and several fans have their own. How are they viewed from a third perspective? #riddlebirdweek is all about examining their relationship so why not add an extra wheel?

The Telltale games gave everyone new dynamics. Oswald was an old friend of Bruce's, Arkham had different connotations and Riddler was more of a legend. Perhaps Penguin got his lead from the older rogue or you could imagine what happens after events for #riddlebirdweek. Don't let canon hold you back.
