A few things on this Xarah stuff. Maggie had no reason to suddenly get suspicious. They just wanted the secret out. Lazy, plotty writing. And Sarah- yes she knows who she married. But he’s the liar who kept swearing he’d changed and would never do this stuff again. And then he does.

It only took 4 1/2 months for Marlena and Brady to have a scene about John dying.

I was thinking about this as I was watching it. It was just so hollow. Even if Marlena didn’t want to upset Belle, give her a moment alone where she struggled because John delivered Belle and this was her first birthday without him. There’s just no depth.

This show making sure the four Greenes have family scenes is beyond ridiculous. 3 weeks to the 60th and Konstantin the nobody has more offspring in town (and seeing each other!) than Julie, Roman, Kate, Abe, Steve and Kayla combined.

I don’t think the 50th has held up well, but at least the lead in wasn’t a bunch of nobodies and villains being treated like romantic leads.

Oh for the love of god. Almost 50 years in Salem with 910 offspring, and then her husband dies and Marlena is stuck with Susan. This is ridiculous.

But are we going to talk about how offensive the writing towards Felicity is? These characters talk to her like she’s a toddler or elementary school at most.

I do enjoy stans crazy takes. Because imagine sitting there defending that EJ should be the one heading up John’s legacy 😂

This Xander stuff is so bad. Not only is he lying to her. Again. But they keep acting like she’s just as bad as him, if not worse.

Well I guess at least someone remembered John had a lot of money and a legacy to continue?

The whole show sucks, but the way this show has blundered Marlena’s role in Salem with John gone is a failure for the ages.

Anyway, I think this is my sign to stop watching completely. Even on Marlena days.

Sorry, I’m still on this. I can’t believe the message this show is sending is that the historically violent man who beat someone nearly to death is the victim because his wife told a little lie about a stupid business. And the big story point is whether or not she can be forgiven.

GH was the #1 show on Hulu today. Days hasn’t been in the top ten on Peacock since June. And they always used to be.

I can’t believe those Xander and Sarah made it to air. Two women wrote a woman like this? And she should never consider getting back together with him. What an absolute bag of trash he is. Philip, too.

One more thing while I’m at it. Ron briefly teased Holly crushing on Johnny. It never went anywhere because of the strike. But how weird that this ‘new’ team decides to bring that back two years later. Jeanne Marie was on staff then. So just an assumption that she decided to bring that back.

Another thing that irritates me is this writing for Philip. Not only would Philip not care at all about a retcon brother, he never would’ve covered up this beating. Not unless he (and Kate) were planning to use it to take down Xander. This version of Philip could be any other generic character.

I keep forgetting to mention this, but at least twice Kayla has said she can’t imagine what Marlena is going through. Steve was dead for 16 years. I know the show likes to pretend that didn’t happen, but.

I’m not going to pretend this was incredible groundbreaking television, but it is Shakespeare compared to what we’re watching now. At least it was fun and nostalgic and included characters we care about.

Of course this show had Claire cheat on Theo off camera. Because the man has to be wronged and women are the worst. Unreal.

I think the reason Theo came back and Claire didn’t is because they’re planning all this DiMera stuff for him. It’s not about Abe. It’s for stupid DiMera stiff. Maybe if Claire was still a DiMera, Shelle could have their kid back. So ridiculous.

So three recurring senior citizens that will probably air once. And a younger couple pretty much everyone hates.

In other news, the 13yo started 8th grade today! Rocky smirked right through the pics, but we got home and he’s depressed 😅

I just can’t believe that anyone thought that this is what Marlena should be doing in the aftermath of her husband’s tragic death. It’s not even like he just died of old age. He died in a horrible fiery accident after being gone for months. But let’s have her talk more about EJ, Xander and Kristen.

School starts tomorrow. The 13yo: ‘I need to watch The Nanny. Fran Fine and her family have a soothing, calming presence’ 😂

Remember when Mr. ‘Abby gets decapitated’ said Marlena wouldn’t air at all after the funeral? What a joke. If only she was so lucky tbh. The writing for her is just awful.

Meanwhile there’s an adoption story in Brady and Tate’s own family. John was adopted. Literally met his birth father as a senior citizen. Could be interesting for his offspring to remember but that’s crazy talk.

What really bugs me about Cat and Chad (besides everything) is I think this relationship is why they felt the need to recast Chad when Billy left. And just no. Cat and Chad are not going to be it.

It’s insane that this was actually said out loud on the show about John, his kids, and Basic Black, but the show insists Stefano said this about his kids and DE.

I’m legit annoyed Marlena is airing so much. It feels like they’re using her to try to legitimize their bad stories.

Idc how the show tries to justify it, Marlena IN HER LIVING ROOM giving therapy to the man who shot her, shot her son, and broke into that same house last year to kill that same son is unhinged. This regime is so bad.

Can’t talk about grief with his sister or his mother, but has time to do it with Gabi and Cat. Insane.
