So my 30 Amp power unit died last night. It was not an expensive unit, a SkyToppower, still the ft710 only draws 22A max. So what gives??? Turns out this 30A unit is actually only rated for 20A. Only says so in the fine print on the papers. Sold exclusively as 30A #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

Sure it's a proven design, sure some "ballpark" results should be expected, still... There is something really satisfying being resonant, (1.1-1.3 swr 46-52 ohms) across 20, 17, 15, 12, 10, and 6m, on an antenna build. Deployment took about 6 min, but we weren't trying. #AmateurRadio #hamRadio #POTA
