I broke my rule and took an early Saturday work appointment, only because it was minutes from a very busy Heron nesting area. I saw hundreds of herons, took hundreds of shots, and have a handful I can use. Great learning experience for this newbie photographer. I'll post some later.

I came upon my second pair this week of breeding Trumpeter Swans during my work travels. Taken off the endangered list here in Ohio in 2024, there are now 450 breeding pairs known to researchers and trackers. They struggle with breeding areas due to more aggressive Mute Swans.

I had several Bluebirds show up today. I was glad to be home to grab the camera and get a few shots.....these little birds are so vibrant against the snow on a sunny day. I have only just started to see them the last three years or so.

When I got up this morning at 5:15 AM, it was -6°. Tomorrow at noon it may hit 50°. Winter is back to "normal" in NE Ohio.
