Just about warm enough to start spring garden cleanup! The recommendation is to wait until daytime temps are reliably in the 50s, so for zone 6b CT possibly this weekend, but definitely next weekend! I love this handout from @xercessociety.bsky.social about how to prune seasonally for bees!

Despite the crummy weather, cuttings are getting popped into soil for young bushes and trees! So far we have blueberries, elderberries, serviceberries, dogwood and willow going, and working on more this week!

Reminder to keep those leaves for a while longer! Dont do your garden and yard cleanup until the weather is reliably in the 50s for a week+. False spring always tries to convince us its time, then we get gross chilly weather back and the insects and wildlife still need those leaves & hollow stems!
