As someone who reads lots of queer horror, it strikes me that every Goodreads "top review" of a book that I love will completely miss even the basic premise of the book. Not a remotely new observation, I'm sure, but books with even vaguely challenging content have their ratings utterly obliterated.

Playing a bit of Tears of the Kingdom again and I am still constantly surprised that this game is as weird as it is? (in a good way!) There are so many fun decisions and little quirks that make it different from Breath of the Wild, I'm so glad the devs didn't just play things safe.

Thinking about this again! It's understandable if you're an artist any kind to want to make art that is seen by lots of people, but in my experience, chasing algorithms to try to get the most engagement possible sucks the joy out of every step of the process.

I know there's a million video-games exploding in all directions at all times now, but I cannot recommend In Star and Time enough!! Every single character in the game is a Character Of All Time and I am going to be thinking about the story, the themes, and the world building for years.

This week I did nothing but play In Stars and Time and Deltarune Chapters 3 + 4 (and write a little bit of music). It's all peak. It's all peak!!

I set myself a new record for the fastest time to get inspired when I heard literally the first second of a Joe Hisaishi track in my current reference playlist and then had to immediately stop what I was doing and start composing. Anyway, music has been happening (as it often seems wont to do)
