I fixed it. The bear is all cleaned, and dried, and filled with rice and wool fluff. This time with a wool heart and message from kiddo tucked inside. The child is pleased again.

Who has two thumbs and didn't realize her child's favorite stuffy was filled with flax seeds before giving him a good wash? Me. It was me.

Despite having years past since the kids wanted to watch toy story 2 I woke up and it was on. I may or may not be intentionally cleaning out my car to avoid "When somebody loves you".

#authors what do you do to celebrate the completion of a draft? Do you have traditions? Asking for @joeauerbach.bsky.social who just finished the draft of his second book last night.

Two days past funeral. I'm exhausted, sick, a little unmoored. It may sound ridiculous, but I didn't know how hard this would hit me. The weight of forever feels too heavy today. Maybe tomorrow it will feel a little lighter.

I cannot express how the shows on PBS saved my life. I was in a situation as a child I felt I couldn't get out of. Sesame Street and Mr Rogers showed me it was okay to feel feelings, to express myself, that I deserved love and joy. My heart is sick. If I had the money I'd buy PBS myself.

And that's it. The day has passed. I sang, we cried, we buried my mom. We survived. It felt surreal, sad, hollow. And now I go forward without my mom, but also without ever having really gotten to know her. I grieve what we lost and what I wish we could have been. Life moves forward.

I know the two of you who see these, (hi @joeauerbach.bsky.social and @enantiodromos.bsky.social ) Don't come here for the mama drama... But this is kind of like the only place I can really kvetch, so here's what's up.

Can I just say how grateful I am for therapy. I have been in and out of regular therapy pretty much since college, but over the last decade I've had a regular practice that has really saved my life. And especially now, when I have so many fucking complex feelings to unpack and heal. Thank therapy.

Mom's gone. She began her next journey Sunday the 20th. I feel a lot of complex feelings on the subject, but at least she isn't suffering anymore.

Sometimes, I worry about the bugs that hitch a ride in my car and then I shoo out in a completely new location. Are they compatible with the new environment? Will they make new friends? Will they fit in?

So I've been dealing with an antibiotic resistant sinus and ear infection for the better part of 4 weeks at this point. My left ear has been partially blocked this whole time and the increasing pressure in my skull makes me wonder how much more a brain can handle before it goes squish.

So, I did more at #OriginsGamingConvention this year than I have in many years past. My kids were running the show, and I was joyful to help them participate. But I missed meeting @legendsofavantris.bsky.social folk. I'm exhausted. But cannot shout out @windmillgames.bsky.social enough. TY All.
