I've seen a few folk sharing their StoryGraph round-up for January, so I thought I'd post my own. A pretty good start to the year in terms of quality. I also just finished No Body No Crime by Tess Sharpe, but I guess that'll be in Feb's round-up.

Had to do a double take when I saw these fellas in their white van today.

A few good days out this month. We got up Dumyat, had a walk around Valleyfield woods and visited Linlithgow Palace.

Had a fun night out last night catching up with a couple of Shetland BFFs as they passed through town.

I took a wander up Conic Hill today wae Unca Nebo. Busy place. I especially enjoyed the rocky path up and the blustery wind at the top. I felt usually energised, like I could have run up!

I bought this coat in a charity shop today. Great fit, great condition. Checked the inside pocket and found a train ticket from 1988!

Here's what I've been doing this morning.

I visited the Stirling Reuse Hub today and had a bit of fun playing dress up. I was particularly pleased with how badass I look in this photo.

Work in progress. I'm sketching ravens trying to find the right balance of black and white and the perfect comprehension of the bird and its form. End goal, linocut. I'm currently using a black ballpoint pen for my sketching.

So, I'm thinking for my next sketch/print, I might do a triptych of birds. Starting with a raven and then I'm deciding between pigeon, budgie, hen, or pheasant.

Debut post here. This is the first lino cut I've printed in decades and my first ever onto fabric. The toad had a big puffy chest in the original drawing, but at the last minute, while carving the lino, I decided to streamline the body, satisfying a hunch. I'm pretty happy with the results.
