Tonight’s viewing, pulled out of my lasted haul:

Had a great train fare for a trip to York today but the train was cancelled. Could have paid the difference (double again) for a later train or take a credit, so I’ve spent the day wandering Manchester. What a lovely day to be outdoors!

Just down at the pub, watching the game. Feeling rather like a local. Can’t imagine a better Sunday afternoon. (Today I root for Man United, since the folks who invited me are longtime fans. But don’t worry, I have chosen my team, but they played yesterday. And trounced their opponents!)

Side benefit to being a vicar: someone dropped off a set of Blu-rays to sell at next year’s fair. So instead, for a small donation, they’re going right on my shelf. Pretty good haul for £15 right?

For the record, I do try to get out of the house on my day off because I’ve been often told how important social interaction is to every person. Then this arrived in the post. I’ll be in my comfy chair.

I’m going to take a shower, I say. Then read my book in my favorite chair, I say. You can have the whole rest of the house I - Oh, bugger.

When I think back to this night last year - I was anxious, nothing was moving forward, my dream seemed to be on shaky ground. Tonight I’m settled in my new home, watching fireworks and realizing it’s all worked out magnificently. May all your New Years be as wonderful as mine.

When I signed up, I committed to standing up against people who misuse the gospels to hurt and hate. Trust me, these attitudes are “false prophets” and need to be called out. Love God, love your neighbor. Really is that simple.

Ya know, it took me less than an hour at the rental car desk to realize that ignorant salespeople and driving in NJ are the biggest sources of stress for me. Loving the visit, and the personal insight, but not gonna miss this when I get back to meeting friendly people and walking everywhere.
