Good morning. Eagle, yesterday. It seems my hand has healed up, X ray yesterday shows, so I can lose the brace. Very happy. Some pain during work, but I know that will fade in time. Happy days.

This surprised me. Black Kites, untold thousands of them, out in the desert. Had me baffled as to what they survive on. Turns out they’re scavengers. Beautiful birds though.

Galah at the old telegraph station, Alice Springs. Later in the trip we had a run in with the old telegraph line itself, when a length of it got caught up in the leaf springs of our vehicle.

We came across a budgerigar caught in a huge spiders web in the Simpson Desert. Rescue was successful.
