Played some first gen for the 30th birthday of Pokémon and today's #ScanlineSunday This is the game I discovered the licence with and it shows well on Game Boy Player and CRT The starter I chose for my first ever playthrough was Squirtle but I ended up playing all three of them so no real favourite

For today's #ScanlineSunday I'm staying in the Zelda theme following its 40th birthday.

Some Metroid Other M for #ScanlineSunday Yes, the plot and the cutscenes are not great, but I still find the gameplay interesting, especially after the Prime formula that was starting with the third (imo) to overstay their welcome. Taken on a Toshiba 28N33F, with Wii and RGB

Finished FF9 again, might be the tenth-ish time and still the Final I like the most. Hadn't played it on original PS and CRT for a long time though. Some views of Memoria and the ending.

I think the Moogles in FF9 are my favourite in the series, they look so cute. I like delivering their letters and getting their point of view through them over the course of the game.

Back with some FF9, I took some time off gaming on CRT during the last month and a half to play some more recent games. Here's a few pictures of Ipsen's Castle, it gives medieval and early modern castle vibes with its large rooms filled with natural light. #CRT #FF9

Visited some more cosy spots, Esto Gaza and Daguerreo are favourites of mine. You got dimmed lights and shelter from cold weather in the first, and plenty of books in the second.

Some landscapes in FF9, it's a shame we don't get those often. It allows to see the geography of Gaia in a more detailed way than the world map does. #CRT #FF9

Went treasure hunting in FF9 again and then resumed the journey, Oeilvert and the Desert Palace this time.

The Iifa Tree, I noticed that with the perspective and its perceived scale compared to the characters in the frame, it looks like a nuclear mushroom cloud. And the green glow inside reminds the way radioactive material is shown in pop culture. It might fit the role that giant tree plays in the game.

Stopped by the village of summoners, Madain Sari. The nice earth tones make the ruins strangely warm, like a quiet sunset.

Visited Conde Petie and Black Mage Village. I find Black Mage Village so bittersweet with its cheerful synth theme while some Black Mages and Vivi discuss their finite existence.

Happy 25th anniversary to NA release of FF9 ! As usual we Europeans had to wait a few months more to put our hands on it, but it was worth the patience. Got a few pictures of Pinnacle Rocks and Fossil Roo. Soon to follow, some Outer Continent locations.

Cleyra is beautiful too. Unlike Burmecia, we fortunately get to see more of the town before things take a wrong turn. #FF9 #CRT
