Not a single memory, but the fact that despite abuse, poverty, and mental illness, I was still a very nice kid. And I STAYED nice, even though no one had the tools or patience to deal with me. I didn't wanna be mean or hurtful because MY life was bad. I just wanted to be happy and make others happy.

I spent a lot of time alone. I was quiet and shy in a way that scared the kids and enraged the adults. There was a lot of, "Answer me when I speak to you!" hurled at me, which honestly just made me quieter. But when I felt I was being treated unfairly or misunderstood, I was very prone to meltdowns.
