Quick Friday flex before I do some Friday shopping.

It’s MY Friday so here is my Friday Flex!

On a business trip in the Columbia river gorge so I’m grabbing a little pool time.

Friday flex

Things I do differently now. wear clothes that fit me, I’m more confident. I don’t let the number on the scale determine my worth. I catch myself when I hear myself say negative things about myself. I’m learning to accept compliments. Now I just need to get out there & be more social and live life.

Just home from the gym. Mid week. Checking out my progress. Sometimes I can’t believe how much weight I’ve lost and how much my body has changed. Seeing results is the best motivator.

Back to reality. I wanted to sleep in but I got up and went to the gym. First day back from paradise. At least my tan looks good at the gym.

I just spent 4 days sitting around the pool. As I looked at the various bodies of all shapes and sizes, young and old, I did catch myself saying on occasion, wow. What a beautiful physique. Still working on mine so one day I could be one of those guys by the pool that someone says wow, look at him.

All packed and ready to go. I enjoyed my time away. Maybe next time I’ll be a little more social and join in on those pool parties and conversations. Glad I went.

Another hot one today. Goals today are to do a little shopping and get some more sunshine and stay cool and hydrated.

Friday flex

Throwback Thursday. I do these to keep me honest. Sometimes we work so hard to achieve our goals & when we look in the mirror all we can see are the negatives so even though the jeans went from size 38 to 30 & shirts 2XL to Large, this helps me see the NEW version of me.

June 1st. Here is where I am currently. I’ve decided not to focus so much on what the scales say but what I see in the mirror & how my clothes fit. I’m lifting more & taking creatine. Goal - more muscle, less fat & to focus on the positives & NOT the negatives.

Saturday shopping. Still driving around in the rental. I get my new car on Monday.

Started my journey cause I had a bad back, my knees & ankles hurt from the weight & my A1C level was high & I was pre-diabetic. I also wanted to buy clothes in a regular store & feel comfortable at the pool with my shirt off. Down around 100 lbs & feeling better. Stay at it.

First day back at the gym since the car accident. I was so scared driving to the gym but even more scared driving home. Small steps help overcome fears.

Had a wonderful weekend in Palm Springs. Just what the doctor ordered.

Saturday Palm Springs by the pool. I got all my shopping done in town. Now it’s time to get as tan as humanly possible before I have to return. I have lost 86 pounds and now I’m celebrating.

It’s 71 at 7:30 AM already. Looking for a high of 92. Sitting outside enjoying some calm time. Breakfast then a little shopping on S Palm Canyon Dr. and then sun time. Hoping to get a few more wind gusts today. Those are very welcome on hot days.

I got my quota of sun today.

Another day in the Palm Springs sunshine.

74 degrees at 7 AM. Plans for the day. Breakfast at 8. Sherman’s at 9:30, shopping at 10 and then nothing but sun time. But most important, stay hydrated. High today of 95.

I definitely got some sun. That bruise on my belly from the car accident looks horrible but what can you do.

92 degrees at 5:30 in Palm Springs. I could definitely get used to this.

The pool is empty. Come join me!

Already by the pool. 94 degrees. Yes that big old black spot on belly is the bruise from last week’s car accident but I’m a trooper. I am also under 200 pounds for this trip too.

This has been THE most stressful and uncertain week (car accident, rental cars, losing a crown & bruises all over my body) I could have and maybe should have cancelled this trip but maybe some sun & chill time will be just what I need. Next stop Palm Springs

Well this just happened. I’m ok but the car is a mess. The airbag and seat belt saved my life. Please be safe out there.

Every morning around 3:30 AM my brain says, “you don’t have to go to the gym, you can sleep in” then I look at the clock around 3:50 and say, “Just get up and go” and I do. Like they say, you never regret going.

Guys that have never struggled with weight could never understand this. I bought these slim fit size 32 shorts AND THEY FIT. I used to wear size 40. No matter WHAT the scales say it’s moments like these that keep me motivated. This is solid proof, in my mind, that my efforts are working.

I may not be the biggest or strongest or fittest, most muscular or thinnest guy at the gym but I AM HERE making the effort to have the kind of body I can be proud of & to squash the voices in my head that like to say negative things when I look in the mirror.

For me, the best way to start the week is at the gym. Got in my hour of cardio on the dreadmill & now it’s time to hit the weights. I’m all warmed up, got my favorite music & I’m motivated.
