Throwback Thursday. I still like to look back & see where I was & where I am so it helps my brain adjust to the newer version of me. Still under 200 which always makes me happy & I’m able to wear smaller sizes. I’ll never have a perfect AI body & darn it, I’m getting older but aren’t we all.

struggled with weight entire life. Lost almost 100 pounds. body NOT perfect by today’s standards. older, Love handles, moobs, back fat, belly BUT I’m healthier. more confidence at the gym & pool. refuse to give up on myself even if it gets tougher & the results don’t happen as quickly as I’d like.

I’m sitting here on this cold and rainy day remembering me sitting by the pool in Palm Springs at Twin Palms enjoying an afternoon popsicle. California dreaming.

Ok, how many of you guys owned this book? I kept it with my GQ magazines & international male & undergear catalogs. I also had the Looking good and Man Alive books. I think it answers a lot of people’s question, “so, when did you know?” question. 🌈

Leg day!

This apparatus is called an arm blaster, used to do concentration curls so your biceps explode when you lift. Like a harness, but for the gym. Maybe it will give me the courage to wear a real harness to a club one day like all you other confident fellas that inspire me.

I was working out this morning at the gym & found myself saying to myself, “You could have slept in every day this week but instead, you got up & went to the gym” & it made me feel pretty good. I’m working on replacing all the negative thoughts that are floating around in my head with positive ones.

Back home after a nice sunny weekend in Vegas. I jumped on the scales and I lost a few pounds but I also walked over 20k steps every day. Back to my 4:00 AM gym routine.

Well, this is me. Completely relaxed. Doing what I love. Relaxing in the sun. Me at my “realist”. Silver in the hair and beard and a wrinkle here and there. I believe it’s called keeping it real.

It’s cloudy and 75 right now. The goal for the day is to chill and relax so this very old man can be rested for the Jennifer Lopez concert tonight!

I don’t think I will ever want to eat a single solitary thing when I get back to Portland but the pizza here is just to to delicious and the slices are ginormous!

Pool time….again.

Sorry ya’ll but I ALWAYS stop and get a hot fudge Sunday. I know it’s not healthy or diet food but sometimes you just gotta have a treat.

Today I had NOTHING on the schedule except to lay in the sun! Mission accomplished!

Heading to sunny Las Vegas!

Heading to Vegas for weekend fun. The temps are going to be upper 80’s. Got a short hair cut. Ready for some pool time, shopping, shows and TLC.

93 pounds difference. My back, knees, ankles no longer hurt. No longer pre-diabetic. A1C/cholesterol levels safe. I fit in an airplane seats & shop for clothes in any store. I’m not changing the world but we all need something we can be proud of. Victories keep me going when I feel like giving up.

Flashback Friday. Everyone’s journey is different. I’m still on mine. Get healthier (A1C levels, etc.) & be happy with how I look regardless of age, genetics & regardless of what I’m wearing or not wearing. ☺️

But seriously folks. Working hard to get bigger and stronger and fitter for summer. I think they call it thicc.

Saturday grocery shopping. It’s always nice when the stores open early and you can get up, go shopping before the crowds get too crazy and be done by at least 11:00.

It is soooo cold and windy and rainy outside. Brrrrr. I guess the only thing to do is go shopping!

Frisky Friday

All suited up and heading into the office to deliver some trainings. I don’t get as many opportunities to get all dressed up like I used to but when I do I always like to look my best and since suits are very form fitting it’s always a bonus they still fit and button. 😊

Woohoo! They said it was going to snow last night but I woke up to just rain so I got to go to the gym and it was arm day.

Universal question. What keeps a guy motivated enuf to go to the gym at 4 AM on a cold rainy wintry morning 5 days a week? Seeing results & feeling better. No matter what is going on out there in the world, I can at least take care of me.

Throwback Thursday. Do I measure my success by the number on the scale? The size of my jeans? What I see in the mirror? All of the above. When I looked at this side by side pic I hardly recognized the man on the left. I’ve made lots of changes to help me be where I am today & tomorrow.

Work it Wednesday. I needed some new suits that fit me and my recent healthier self so I splurged and bought a few. Here’s the one I am wearing into the office today.

Getting back to my workout routine after a weekend in Palm Springs

I hear lots of guys say, “you’ll never see me in a speedo by the pool” that was me before I lost 93 pounds. I’m not the fittest, thinnest, most muscular but I’m doing it. It motivates me & keeps me on track. Celebrating my B-day in Palm Spring. My reward for all my efforts at the gym & table.

I have arrived. Time to get some tan lines.
