Waltham is creating the next generation of leaders! I was honored to be the keynote speaker at McDevitt for 8th Grade Civics Day of WPS! I also stopped by Mr. Hanlon’s Civics class to answer student’s questions about various issues faced by MA residents and how they can get involved.

Wednesday (4/22) I presented an award to Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University as part of the annual Clubhouse Employment Celebration. Brandeis has partnered w/Charles Webster Potter Place Clubhouse since 2015 to employ their member, Aaron Needle, as a Gallery Attendant at the Rose Art Museum.

I was thrilled to coordinate a training session with Central Boston Elder Services to educate my legislative colleagues & staff, Boston City Councilors, community partners + others on how Aging Services Access Points (ASAPs) support older adults & individuals with disabilities in our communities.

Last week I toured the Fresenius Kidney Care’s Wellesley Dialysis Clinic where patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) + End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) receive treatments they need to live full, active lives. I am excited to share the MBLC recently awarded a $19,045,750 grant to renovate the Waltham Public Library + construct an addition. Waltham also received an additional $500,000 in funding from MBLC’s Green Library Incentives program, to make the building energy efficient & cost effective.

What an honor it was attending the Leading Age MA’s 2026 Senior Living Symposium this week! As with anything and everything LeadingAge-related, I learned so much! Definitely one of the best parts of co-chairing the Aging and Independence CMTE 😁

Today April 1st is #StartByBelieving Day, the start of Sexual Assault Awareness Month & a public awareness + action campaign by End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI) to end the cycle of silence & change the response to sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, + child sexual abuse.

On Friday, I attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Light Microscopy Facility at Brandeis University! A collaboration between Brandeis & the Mass Life Sciences Center it features state of the art microscopes & is a resource for researchers + students & our local biotech + academic community
