Took Maggie for a nice long walk today. She gets more obedient every day, such a smart doggie.

Quite the scene over the river after the #sun went down. The water was very #calm, so I launched the #Drone, sent it out over the river and lowered it down low to catch the reflection of the sky in the calm water.#NaturePhotography

Half way though my walk with #Maggie today, I found a decent size stick and broke it off into a good size for her. One would think I gave her a leg of lamb. She carried it all the way home and then played with it until I had to put her back inside. She was so proud of it. #dogs

Three shots to put an end to the day. I was watching these two #sailboats racing each other and one just had a jib flying the other main and jib. Jib only led the way. Then I saw these #geese coming my way. How beautiful. Then the #sun setting behind the trees on the other side.

Two treats from early this morning. The River from my deck and cobwebs in the field, same day as in past years.

Yesterday after the waterfalls, I just had a little light left to explore the eastern end of the park which gives you access to the river. The first is of a Killdeer, then two synchronized Egrets. I even did one sunset shot looking towards the Nepean Marina. I have to go back.

My good fortune while playing golf with some buddies this morning, I stumbled on this #GreenHeron and happened to have my camera in the bag. The feathers raised on his head indicates his displeasure in me finding his special place #NaturePhotography

A quick visit to #Remic Rapids on Aug 27 to see some of the #sculptures in and beside the #Ottawa River. Here are a few that caught my fancy.

Mud Lake Aug 27. #1 A Bay Breasted Warbler #2 an American Redstart. #3 An Egret hunting. Finally #4, all my ducks in a row.

Aug 27 at 7:10 pm the mother #deer and her #fawn came onto my property. I took the first 2 images through the window, but then the rest from the open door to the deck. I just spoke quietly to them and they stayed. The last image before they entered the bush was at 7:26 #Nature

This is #Dougie a dog belonging to some neighbours who sometimes let me help in keeping this busy little #terrier amused. Today we hung out at my place and then a quick trip to the river.#Naturephotography

Interesting this morning as we were waiting to tee off at the Gatineau Golf course, these #deer came out of the bush walking along the edge of the 18th fairway almost oblivious to the decoy #Coyote that was situated nearby. These are phone grabs, but I had to get what I could.

What a #sunset this evening at the river. I did two versions and putting up two of each. The second one features a piece of #driftwood I picked up in the morning. I wondered if it looked as good when alive and part of a tree as it does now. It is only 12 inches high.#Naturerules

Early this morning as we were preparing to play golf, this man from across the fairway came out of the bush, all dressed in black and called the ducks to come to him. They all waddled across the fairway from the pond they were beside, in order to get his blessings....or treats.

Later today it was all about #sailing on the river as opposed to motor powered craft. So nice to see.

Coming up the highway today just after 1pm, I just had to pull off the road and photograph these amazing #Cumulous #Clouds. They were spectacular. There were other types too but these ones got the prize. Such a nice change from the smoky boring skies of late. #NaturePhotography

At 2 in the morning this past night, my trail cam captured the fawn and its Mom. I guess enjoying the slightly cooler evening air as opposed to the heat in the day yesterday, when they probably were keeping low and not moving around much.

Dear wee Chippy patiently waiting his turn to get some of those treats. He feels the low man on the totem pole.

The sun hid behind the clouds but it was still nice to be down at the river. The water levels are way down so walking on the shore is possible again. Here is what I came away with.

Did this little video of a friendly rabbit outside my bedroom this morning with my phone. The ears are the interesting thing, they never stop moving, checking for sounds in all directions.

A new kind of boat?

Spent a couple of hours at Mud Lake yesterday taking in the sights, starting off with some lovely Forget-me-nots then Great Blue Herons.

This fellow came racing across the river this afternoon in what looks like the #Lamborghini of racing #Kayaks, not even wearing a PFD. He was flying, never missing a stroke.

Here is a far off shot of an #Osprey this afternoon, sitting on a branch hoping to find a fish for supper. I was hoping to get a photo of it flying off with the fish, but, not to happen this time.

Early this morning a pair of #housefinches landed on the feeder, Mr and Mrs, and they stayed for 10 minutes, though she was behind a post, so didn't get a shot of her. Last photo I have of these was in March of 2024. #NaturePhotography
