Didn't post yesterday as I was still looking at pugs π Ended up as 22/9 (or possibly 8π€). Highlights were Mullein & two Diamond-backs, both nfy along with two Many-plumes. Another possible nfy was Oak-tree Pug, but I think it's probably snother Brindled; opinions welcome VC37 SO96

An unexpected 67/7 @
#uptonwarren
this a.m.with GWC, which included the attached. I assumed Clouded Drab, but Obsid is saying 100% Twin-spotted Quaker. I was wondering, although not very seriously, about Lead-coloured Drab, although it's not very grey. Antennae not yet seen well. Any thoughts?

I thought I'd seen a moth fluttering around the kitchen last night, but assumed I was wrong or it had flown back out of the window. However, just found this rather nice Double-striped Pug on the kitchen wall, giving me 12/5 for last night VC37 SO96

11/4 in and around the trap this morning. Two nfy in the shape of Clouded Drab (4) & LBAM. Four Common Quaker & 2 Small Quaker were the other species present. Incidentally, the Oak Beauty I found on my fence on 4/3 is still there... VC37 DO96

An unusual, for me, 'field-trap' last night. 2.5 hours on a site near the Lickey Hills gave me 9/5, the best being Twin-spotted Quaker. March Moth 3, Diurnea fagella 2, Common Quaker 2 & Small Quaker being the rest VC37

This morning's trap produced 2 CQ & a Beautiful Plume, with another Grey Shoulder-knot on a different wall. Friday night's GSK was still in the same place, indeed both were still there when I put the trap out tonight, plus a bonus Red-green Carpet I must have overlooked this a.m. VC37 SO96

Still no garden moths this year (3 blanks) but my 3rd moth of the year at
#uptonwarren
was nfm - an Early Moth in one of the hides
#teammoth
Found by Gert, it was still in the hide when I arrived 45 minutes later. Birds less inspiring, but 3 Otters were the most I'd seen at one time on the reserve.

saw the, largely, continuous presence of the GBBG. Little else of note, whilst the roost there held c360 BHG, 50+ Herring & 15 LBBG plus the usual five Curlews. Also 20-30 Chaffinches in hedge along west track.

You may say it was a daft idea to trap last night - well, it was & it wasn't. On the plus-side, my first December Moth for four years, although it was the only moth in the trap. Also on the minus-side, my bulb failed at some time after 11.30. Perhaps the cold was too much for it? VC37 SO96
