100% wouldnāt recommend inheriting another PMās product choices without understanding how they made them, choices they had and why they chose the direction they did. Decision logs arenāt just to hold yourself accountable and absorb any risk - itās the whole context story. Log it. Please.

My favourite part of presenting at our annual conference today was being asked to talk about the most valuable thing the team has delivered this year. And deciding that I wasnāt going to talk about the features, performance testing, or scaling. I decided to talk about the people who did the work ā„ļø

Sunday Scaries - 7pm and right on time, in the bath, they hit me like a slap from mi Nana! Annual leave means low team capacity, no capacity senior leadership team, end of sprint, integration challenges, discovery timescales, a new delivery plan, security and scalability testing⦠What are yours? š«£

Sitting in an interview today, a new user researcher to join the team. Iām there to provide context and answer questions about the project. āStandard questionsā were provided. Not a single one about experience in accessibility. Nothing about how would they recruit AT users. Nothing. Disappointed.

Put a days flexi-leave in today to start trying to find my 20yr old son a new room to rent in September, heās been renting for a year now. Itās so damn hard for young people. And so expensive! Ā£600-Ā£700pm for a bedroom in a shared house, with 6 others. In Newcastle. What real chance do they have?

An invitation to pause, mid sentence, where the comma sits, to really create space around the message youāre trying to convey. I promise that the pause, however uncomfortable, will positively shift your status in the space. An invitation to try.

Reminding my body that this is something I can do. 15 to 20mins of bag work at the end of a weights session has been a revelation. Like therapy. And a good calorie burn too. My technique is rusty, but still grateful that my body remembers how to move like this.

Honestly, if ChatGPT were a person, I think theyād be a middle aged white dude. Itās staggering amount of times it delivers wildly incorrect answer with absolute confidence, rather than just admit it doesnāt know.
