Hannibal meets Will’s gaze, holding him there. “You’re the first,” his voice is a whisper, lips curled into a smile, “The only one I ever allowed to see me.”

"You think they are?" he asked softly. "I just hope they see I’m the right one for them. I give them the time to find themselves before they find me." He tucked his notebook away and locked the drawer of his desk.

That eye contact draws a smile from Hannibal for reasons that need no explanation. He doesn't look away even when Will does. "Yes. There is one."

"To be frank, forming connections has never come easy to me. My mind is a labyrinth of layers, making it nearly impossible to let anyone in. It's beautiful that when you believe yourself incompatible with the world, that one person emerges to fill the voids you never knew existed, making you whole."

“That’s been… quite a while,” he said with a small smile. Strangely, the thought didn’t make him jealous, it only made him more eager to take Will out.

“When was the last time you actually went on a date?” he asked, using his professional tone - detached and unimpressed, but beneath it all, he was genuinely curious.

“He’s gonna think you’re lying,” he teased him. He knew Will and that all his social life was with his dogs. Pretty much everyone knew that. "Doctor's orders, if he asks."

That earned a heartfelt laugh from Hannibal. “I’ll make sure all those killers give you a break tomorrow. It’s important, I want you to look perfect for your date.”

"Does tomorrow morning work for you? I don’t have any patients until lunch," he smiles.

Hannibal’s eyes lit up at the thought. Being there with him? Yes, please. He smiles. “I’d be delighted to help. I can call my tailor and arrange an appointment.”

Hannibal's expression shifts, barely, but showing his surprise. "Of course. What is it you need me for?"

"I'm pretty sure there's someone out there for each of us. We might not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's always someone who'll think we're just right." he smirked. "It does sound like a date to me."

“So I’ve noticed. Are you considering dating now?” Hannibal asked without a hint of shame, knowing who was the main figure of this conversation. He’d learned it was much easier for Will to open up when the conversation stayed just indirect enough.

"I’ve been your therapist for a while, and I’ve never seen you serious about anyone. I don’t think you’ve ever even mentioned someone before." he set his pen aside. Oh, he was now oozing with confidence.

"So, a suit and you're actually going to discuss the book with them? That sounds serious," he says in a tone that's unmistakably flirtatious. He doesn't do that often. More like not at all.

"You’ll do just fine. He wouldn’t have asked you to join him if he didn’t trust you in that aspect."

"Something tells me he'd love that. Probably have a tailored suit ready for you the moment you mentioned it," Hannibal says, his eyes suddenly bright with excitement at the thought.

Hannibal almost loses his composure when the words suit slip from Will’s lips, immediately bombarded by his imagination. "A suit? Is it because of this person in particular?" he asks, immediately feeling like an excited, lovesick high schooler hiding under all that elegant demeanor.

“Whoever you spend that much time with, I have to admit, they have excellent taste,” he says with a cheeky smile. “Would you like a coffee while you flip through those pages? I’ve got a few more notes to go over.”

"Keep it as long as you want," he smiles, glancing at him with interest. "Didn’t realize this one was your style?"

"Watching me write?" he asks with a pleased smile. "Did you find the book you were looking for?" he glances up towards the big library he owns.

"Yes...?" he looks up. "I just have a couple more notes to copy."
