Amazing number of people on bikes in London now. This isn’t the Embankment cycleway it’s the unprotected crossing of Clerkenwell Road.

Tim laments about how the UK bike industry is centred around leisure and sports in our new podcast: Carspiracy. This diminishes cycling as a legitimate form of transport with serious negative impacts for those of us trying to sell and service cargo bikes and utility cycles.

Tim makes the excellent point that in the UK there are currently no incentives for people to buy e-bikes. Tim cites an excellent article by Noel Flay Cass who makes the point that subsidising e-bike purchases will have a greater positive climate impact than EV subsidies.

I think it's more that it's difficult for car-centric, big box buildings to become anything other than what they were intended to be, with exceptions. Cities tend to be better at repurposing space. As Jane Jacobs wrote, "Old ideas can sometimes use new buildings. New ideas must use old buildings."
