Some pics from our last day here! Had breakfast at Waffle House and went to an apple festival (we got to ride on a school bus to get there from the parking lot!) The apple dumplings there were sooooo tasty🥰

On the way back we also made a stop at Buc-ee's which is basically a a mix of giant gas station, retail store and food court. It's so hard to describe, like I have never seen this much merch of a random company's mascot. Very fun though, definitely wanna visit that again.

Yesterday we did another bigger daytrip to Tennessee where we visited a really cool cave in a mountain with an underground waterfall!

We visited the High Museum of Art in Atlanta today, lots of good and inspiring stuff there (but now I wanna draw myselg again so bad!)

Yesterday we visited a place called Stone Mountain, basically a gigantic rocl made of granite that you can get up to with a cablecar. It has a huge carving of some confederate leaders on its side (boooo), but the views from the top are amazing (yay!).You even can see Atlanta in the distance!

We qent up into the Appalachian Mountains yesterday and visited an incredibly beautiful waterfall!

We're in Georgia now and went down to the Georgia Stafe Fair! I got to try a corndog, a deep fried snickers bar and some funnel cake - truly as American as it gets.

Our last full day in D.C.! We started at the Jefferson Moniment and met a white squirrel at the National Mall!

Yesterday we spent almost the entire day at the Natural History Museum and man, it's such a fantastic place. Both the exhibits and the building itself were gorgeous!

Finally going on a bigger trip again, at the moment we are spending a couple days in Washington D.C.! For the first day we mostly walked around the National Mall to look at all the big monuments and buildings there.

Weather was super nice today (temperatures like in summer!), so I decided to do a little daytrip to my old uni town of Regensburg!

Wow, bluesky absolutely destroyed the quality of those videos. They look so crunchy now...

Little thread about an absolutely wonderful daytrip we did this weekend to lake Chiemsee near the Alps! When you arrive by train, you get to ride a little train from 1887 down to the lake and we were lucky enough to board the historic paddlewheeler to cross the lake! 1/5

Today we did another daytrip to Aachen, the city of Charlemagne! Lots of amazing historic sites and pretty buildings there :Dc

Before and after Dokomi we also did some daytrips, like to the Cologne Zoo!....where they had a ton of dinosaurs in and around the animal enclosures 😂 It was great though, the models were really good, moved and made sounds plus some of them were truly MASSIVE

Did some miniature painting again this week! Instead of the "normal" dinos I actually painted two 19th century versions of Megalosaurus and Iguanodon based on the Crystal Palace statues (with the up to date versions of each dinosaur for comparison). Also painted the tiny pinecone friend Stegouros!

Feeling extremely accomplished atm for fixing the flushing mechanism in the toilet all by myself. Is this the sort of level up you get from being married?

Also spent a lot of time around Landshut, I can never get enough all the pretty places here 🥰🥰

The most amazing day however was when we went to a bird of prey flight show within the grounds of an medieval castle!

We also visited Regensburf, my old university town, which honestly is always qorth a trip. I never can get enough of its gothic cathedral 😍😍😍

Besides the wedding last qeek we also did lots of daytrips with friends and family! First stop was Salzburg, the qeather was pretty overcast, but the city and the moutains were still absolutely beautiful!

Did a little daytrip today and visited the Mammoth Museum in Siegsdorf near the Alps! Lots of great ice age fossils and models there!

Hey, remember that Carnotautus skull model I mentioned in this years hourly comics? It finally arrived and holy moly, it's BIG. Didn't expect 1:5 scale to be so much bigger than the 1:8 ones I already have! I love it so much, plus they added a little rhamphorynchus skull magnet as a gift! 😍😍😍

On that note, my dinosaur model collection recently got a new home on the shelfs of our new living room furniture! Now I can display them together with my small fossil collection, too!

I feel extremely lucky that I got the chance to purchase this incredible needle felted sinosauropteryx from @zimthandmade.bsky.social! I love this little guy so much, not only is it extremely cute, but the quality is also out of this world. Really makes you appreciate such hand crafted artworks! 😍😍😍

Stumbled by pure chance upon a fantastic exhibition about dinosaurs from Patagonia today in Madrid! That absolutely made my day 😍😍😍

First project of the new year! I refinded and painted the heroforge mini of Llewelyn that I ordered for Christmas, super happy how the final colours turned out!😍

Beautiful new year's walk today, everything was covered in hoarfrost and the light was just stunning!

We finally have some warm and sunny spring weather again after wet coldspell of the last few weeks! I really missed taking those nice walks around town...

On our last day we went on a daytrip to the town of Cremona, so much cool medieval and renaissance art and architecture there! Also surprisngly many lions...

We spent a super nice and chill afternoon in Crema today! Even in a small town like this you find so much beautiful architecture and the small streets and alleyways are so lovely, too!

Love it when the boyfriend plays Dark Souls in the other room and all I hear occasionally is disgruntled sighs and pained "Noooo..." (and very rarely a triumphant "YES" 🤭)

For my birthday I treated myself with something quite special, I got the Beasts of the Mesozoic Gorgosaurus and I can not emphasize enough what a beautiful figurine this is!!!

Started playing the Isle with @paichi.bsky.social and I honestly don't understand how I haven't done that earlier already, that game is so up my alley. Just look how cute my carnotaurus iiiiiiiiis

Been doing some more miniature model painting since the start of the year, I finished a camptosaurus, plateosaurs quetzalcoatlus and a set of human figures for scale!

I DID IT. I finally finished my first full playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3!!! That was such a good ending and the epilogue was so sweet, too ;w; I really really enjoyed the whole game and now I wanna draw my Tav Nevasca, too!! In the meantime, have a few screenshots of my him in game.

Honestly I have missed these perfect crisp winter days with all this snow. They are so rare these days...

I FINALLY DID IT Took me a while to get all the parts and building it was quite a challenge in places (hello stability issues), but I am honestly so happy how the model turned out!

Treated myself last week and got the Lego Great Pyramid of Gizeh! It's such a cool and pretty set and I made it so it fits perfectly into my Ikea shelf!

"Hey Bav, what have you been up to the last week and a half?" Oh, nothing much, just obsessively designing a Lego model of a German pre-dreadnought battleship because that's always something I wanted to do and now I actually can. So, the usual madness, I guess.
