Great to know that human rights lawyer #LuSiwei has been released. His wife's younger sister and another friend waited outside the detention centre for ~1.5 hours. Later, they got Lu Siwei's call saying that he's taken to a "judicial centre" by some political security officers.

Just another sham trial as expected. Human rights lawyer #XieYang’s trial was held closed-door. On 28/7, during the pre-trial hearing, the court refused to let Xie Yang’s lawyer photocopy the legal bundles. Chinese human rights lawyer #LuSiwei’s trial will be held in Chengdu on 16 April 2025. He’s accused of “illegally crossing the border”. His wife finally received his first letter dated 21 February 2025 since he was detained in October last year. His skin illness has deteriorated.

Human rights lawyer #LuSiwei has been detained for 9 months, in addition to 3 months of detention in 2023. Yet, Chenghua District Court in Chengdu, Sichuan province, still hasn’t confirmed any trial date. It’s really painful and frustrating for his wife and other relatives.
