This summer is turning out weird. The heat has brought out wasps🐝🐝🐝 at least a month earlier than usual, but in compensation we have many of these little beauties, while they have been quite rare in recent years 🐞🐞🐞 #RythmOfTheSeasons

As a country girl at heart, I was delighted to find a couple of these on the garden furniture. Google suggests they are Tawny Owl 🦉 pellets. Now Mr Anna is as as excited as me and will probably lie awake most of the night trying to hear it #UrbanWildlife

Update on Stumpy He has an old broken left foreleg which is not good news, but the leg is stable, just a bit bent. For this reason they are going to leave the back stump on as it is helping to propel him forward. The rescue will keep him for a few more weeks as they are treating him for lungworms

A bit of excitement - over the past few nights our trailcams picked up an obviously injured hedgehog 🦔. This afternoon we saw him at the entrance to the nest box, eyes wide open. For a nocturnal animal this is a sign of serious stress or illness. Rushed it to the hedgehog rescue. 🚨🚑

We have a new accidental addition to the garden! A tiny Bee Orchid has just sprouted. We have NO idea how it got there
