I was glad to meet with future leaders from Rhode Island College to discuss what’s happening on the Hill and hear their perspectives on current issues. Despite the current challenges we face, their commitment to public service is just the inspiration we need.

No matter how many times you say it, it doesn’t make it true. You’re destroying health care from community health centers to nursing homes to health coverage affordability. Be honest. Have bipartisan negotiations. Open the government. Save health care.

Here are the facts: This Republican shutdown is about PROTECTING health care affordability. Republicans are not being honest and trying to distract from the truth: House Republicans do not want to lower costs and protect your health care.
